Fairfax, VA: Congrats on Your Madrassas

Fairfax, Virginia, has become embroiled in a bitter dispute over the expansion of an Islamic school (a madrassas) in recent months. Yesterday, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors voted 6-4 to allow the school to expand. Residents of the county are, understandably, upset.

The Islamic Saudi Academy is owned and supported by the Saudi government and has been proven to teach Shariah law, according to cbnnews.com. Shariah Law is the most extreme law in Islam that calls for rape victims to be stoned to death for dishonoring the family. Many other liberties we take for granted are calls for punishment under this sick system of theocracy.

"This issue is very basic. It's about Shariah law," said Jim Lafferty, chairman of the Virginia Anti-Shariah Task Force. "The Islamic Academy teaches Shariah law and also practices it."

The issue of the school first came to light when it was discovered that their textbooks were filled with anti-Semetic and violent teachings. I posted on this school before; look under the "Islam" or "Radical Islam" labels for it.

Ten years ago, the school's valedictorian went on to join al Qaeda and was later convicted of plotting to assassinate George W. Bush. I guess he really paid attention in Jihad 101. Loser!

The Christian community in Fairfax contends that their schools have been discriminated against.

"They denied our request for expansion and that was 23 years ago when the traffic was so much less," said JoAnn Metzger, Fairfax County resident.

Metzger's son attended the Fairfax Christian School when they tried to improve some buildings and add a basketball court, but were denied.

"We were literally forced off the property," Metzger added.

Although the Christian community in Fairfax can't do anything about this ruling, they have vowed to make their voices heard at the ballot box.

I, for one, will be praying (and not on a stupid prayer rug) that the citizens of Fairfax will be able to get this perverse religion out of their community and back in the caves where it belongs.
