November 5, 2009: U.S. Army Major Nidal Hasan opens fire at Fort Hood, Texas. At the end of the massacre, thirteen soldiers were dead with 30 more people wounded. A fourteenth victim was claimed that day as one of the slain soldiers was pregnant.

Hasan's court-martial is slated to begin Tuesday, August 6. In statements released to foxnews.com by his attorney, John Galligan, Hasan renounces the citizenship of the country whose armed services he served in and gives the world a glimpse into his islamic beliefs.

Foxnews.com on Thursday posted what it said were writings released by
Hasan through his attorney for civil issues, John Galligan. They include
one handwritten note dated Oct. 18, 2012, in which Hasan renounces his
American citizenship.

Another undated, typewritten note says it isn't "permissible" for
someone to prefer American democracy over traditional Islamic sharia
law. Hasan says Muslims should not "compromise their beliefs" for the
sake of non-Muslims.

The Associated Press received confirmation from Galligan that he did, in fact, provide the statements to foxnews.com.

If there's any question about Maj. Hasan's ideology, one only has to look to the support he received from Anwar al-Awlaki, a radical imam and senior recruiter for al-Qaeda. You know this guy was trouble when Obama placed him on a list of people whom the CIA was authorized to kill because of terrorist activities.

Following the shootings, al-Awlaki posted on a now-defunct website:

Nidal Hassan is a hero. He is a man of conscience who could not bear
living the contradiction of being a Muslim and serving in an army that
is fighting against his own people.... Any decent Muslim cannot live,
understanding properly his duties towards his Creator and his fellow
Muslims, and yet serve as a US soldier. The U.S. is leading the war
against terrorism which in reality is a war against Islam...."

When thousands of innocent Americans are killed (3,000 in one day) because of a disdain for Western culture, you better believe war is coming. And al-Awlaki is now room temperature because of that hatred for any country supporting freedom from sharia law.

I hope they coated the warhead of the Hellfire missle that killed him with bacon grease before releasing it.
Since a cloudless, sunny day in September of 2001, Americans have been told not to stereotype or "profile" muslims because of the acts committed by 19 jihadis on that day. We have also been told that there is nothing to fear. Really?

Let me say that I am a SURVIVOR of domestic abuse (I refuse to be a "victim"). My now ex-husband of 16 years destroyed every bit of psyche and self-esteem without raising a finger. Phrases like "You're ugly.", "You're stupid.", and "If you loved me you would ___________ ." (fill the blank in with anything) left me with no choice but to get out before I put a bullet in my head.

Even after the divorce, I was raped by him through the court system and lost primary physical custody of my daughter. I don't drink or do drugs, but his need for control became evident when I decided to move to the next county. Not the next state or halfway across the country, but the NEXT COUNTY. He and his family hired a very expensive attorney while I was pro se. Needless to say, things have never been the same, and my heart breaks every time I have to return her to that monster.

My experiences with this man are miniscule in scale when compared to what many women in today's world face. I didn't have to live in fear of being dragged from my house and stoned or beaten to death because someone thought I wasn't being obedient, but many women in muslim countries do. They are prisoners within their society. Who speaks for them? I haven't heard much from Amnesty International or the UN. Pamela Geller is the one person I know of who is rabid about speaking out on behalf of these women. While I'm no Pamela Geller, I hope to give some voice to these innocents.

Sharia law in America is something that has been considered as a part of the multicultural melting pot that is this great land. Do we really want court rulings based on the thinking of a bunch of troglodytes? It, in effect, would negate any Constitutional rights of women and give men license to abuse. Is that what our politcally-correct society has come to? Are we going to stand by and allow women to be killed in the name of tolerance for other religions? I, for one, will not submit.

For those who think that this doesn't happen or only happens on a small scale, please watch the following video and ask yourselves "Would I tolerate my mother being treated this way?"
Under the guise of wanting to stem the "epidemic" of HIV/AIDS in the U.S., our president issued an executive order mandating that all 15 to 65 year old citizens be screened for HIV whether said citizens are at risk or not. And the person responsible for drawing up a plan to force you to be tested? None other than Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius (image right). You know, the one person who refused to grant permission for 10-year-old Sarah Murnaghan to receive an adult lung in a transplant that would save the little girl's life. After a court ruling, Sarah received her transplant.
First of all, is there truly an HIV epidemic? Medical advances have been made in the treatment of HIV since the 1980's, and education has helped prevent more cases. While it is a tragedy to those who are diagnosed, I'm not sure that the numbers rise to the "epidemic" level. I would argue that the rate of autism in this country HAS risen to epidemic levels (1 in every 88 children), yet not one word from 1600. Is that because autistic children can't vote yet the gay and HIV advocates can? Just saying....
The ACLU should be on this intrusion into the lives of ordinary people like flies on roadkill. The involuntary medical testing of every citizen is a dream Josef Mengele never got to see. In recent memory, has there been a more incompetent agency within the government than the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)? Many Americans today are quick to respond with "Absolutely not!" as yet another scandal is looming on the horizon.

The IRS was exposed in past months for their shenanigans in targeting conservative groups as part of a political group of thugs hellbent on making sure no one questions their authority. The responsibility for that mess has been passed around like a joint at a Grateful Dead concert with no one willing to be honest for once and admit their culpability. Having been used as a political weapon, the agency seems content to be the scapegoat for those high up in power.

Today, there seems to be yet another instance of the ineptitude of those presently in charge of collecting taxes and, in the future, in charge of making sure the rules of Obamarxcare are followed. The IRS has once again committed a serious faux pas by posting "tens of thousands" of Social Security numbers on their own website, according to nationaljournal.com.

From the article:

" The identifying numbers were on the Internet for less than 24 hours
after being discovered, but the damage was done. And unfortunately, the
data-breach concerns some of the most sensitive types of transactions:
Those made by nonprofit political groups known as 527s."

527 tax-exempt status is generally given to groups who engage in political activities and who gather most of their funds from unlimited "soft money" sources such as individuals who donate to a certain group furthering an agenda the donor wishes to support. Many unions and social activist groups are certified as 527. For a list of the top 50 federally-focused groups, click here. I'm sure you'll find a lot of familiar faces on that list.

In a society where the knowledge of someone's Social Security number can be used to wreak financial havoc on an unwitting victim, many Americans have gone the extra mile to make sure that their critical information is safe. Yet, the IRS seems to care very little about anyone's privacy or the repercussions that could potentially follow. And when the fecal matter hits the fan, there will be plenty of blame to pass on to the schmuck in the next cubicle.

As long as the current administration can keep pitting the societal classes against one another, you can bet your bottom dollar that stories like this will continue to be heard. We are on a very dangerous and slippery slope, folks.

The time to charge the IRS under the RICO statutes is long overdue.

Egyptians crying for a government not run by radical muslim extremists rose up and successfully ousted Mohammed Morsi on Wednesday after much clashing with the muslim Brotherhood. During all of the violence, U.S. Secretary of State, former Senator and failed presidential candidate John Kerry, was enjoying some down time on his private yacht.

The State Department confirmed on Friday that during Wednesday's uprising in Egypt, Secretary Kerry was on his yacht. According to The Blaze, the State Department was forced on Friday to fess up to Kerry's whereabouts during the strife after The Boston Herald released pictures of Kerry having a little fun in the sun.

“While he was briefly on his boat on Wednesday, Secretary Kerry worked
around the clock all day including participating in the president’s
meeting with his national security council,” spokeswoman Jen Psaki said.

Ms. Psaki, as Secretary of State, shouldn't Mr. Kerry have been oh, I don't know, IN WASHINGTON MONITORING THE SITUATION???? He is, after all, the person in charge of forging the relationships this country has with others around the globe. The situation in Egypt seemed to fall into the "pretty damned important" category if you ask me.

Reports from the State Department had earlier denied that Secretary Kerry was on his boat during the rebellion. Psaki had previously stated:

Since his plane touched
down in Washington at 4 a.m., Secretary Kerry was working all day and on
the phone dealing with the crisis in Egypt.

He participated in the White House
meeting with the president by secure phone and was and is in non-stop
contact with foreign leaders, and his senior team in Washington and
Cairo. Any report or tweet that he was on a boat is completely inaccurate. (Emphasis added at The Blaze)

Darn those pictures revealing the truth.

The question that I cannot seem to find an answer for is "Why is John Kerry Secretary of State?" The man has talked about his disdain for the U.S. after returning home from Vietnam and, allegedly, thrown away the medals he received while serving there. In my opinion, his relationship with Hanoi Jane speaks volumes. And the left has the nerve to call Edward Snowden a traitor???
Kerry's title should be changed to an honest "Secretary of Apologizing for America's Superiority". Front and center, of course, is the clashing of those who do not want to live in a theocracy run by the muslim Brotherhood and those who support the inauguration of Sharia Law into the Egyptian government. I then thought to myself "What about the Coptic Christians (Copts) living in a war zone?". They seem to have been forgotten in all the chaos.

Coptic Christians comprise approximately 10% of the Egyptian population. The largest Christian group in the Middle East, most practice the teachings of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria with some 800,000 split between the Coptic Catholic and Coptic Protestant denominations.

In an interview with National Review Online, Raymond Ibrahim, an author and the American son of Egyptian parents, gives a chilling account regarding the treatment of Copts in Egypt since the removal of Mubarak and the installation of the muslim Brotherhood (and Obama)-backed Mohamed Morsi. Violence against Christians in the muslim world is nothing new, but the attacks have allegedly been ramped up since the shift of power in February of 2011.

On April 7 of this year, St. Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Cairo (image right), home of Coptic Pope Tawadoros (Theodoros II), was attacked by men armed with guns, machetes, and rocks. Seven Copts were killed and 84 injured. Among the injured were 11 police officers. So much for the religion of peace.

Ibrahim's interview also told the tale of two CHILDREN targeted by muslims for their family's faith in Jesus Christ. The stories, as told by Raymond Ibrahim, are as follows:

Cyril Yusuf Sa'ad: "He was a six-year-old Coptic Christian boy who was abducted and held for
ransom. Muslim abductions of Christians is an increasingly common
practice, not just in Egypt, but in Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, etc. (as I
show in Crucified Again). The boy was eventually killed in late
May. According to the Arabic language report, the boy’s “family is in
tatters after paying 30,000 pounds to the abductor, who still killed the
innocent child and threw his body into the toilet of his home, where
the body, swollen and moldy, was exhumed.”

Agape Essam Girgis: "She
is a 14-year-old Coptic girl who, on her way to school accompanied by a
Muslim social worker and two teachers — one of whom was a Salafi [an offshoot of Sunni muslims -- B&G] —
never returned. She was drugged and awakened to find herself in a
secluded place with an elderly woman and Salafis who tried to convert
her to Islam, forced her to wear the full hijab, and beat her. She was
eventually released — she’s actually one of the few lucky Coptic girls
who made it back home (one recent study states that well over 500 Coptic
girls have been abducted, raped, seduced, blackmailed, etc., in the
last few years)."

In the days shortly following the 9/11 attacks on America, citizens of this country were told not to rush to judgment and paint all muslims with a broad brush. Yet, in the years since, some of the most gruesome acts of violence in the world have been committed by those who have declared war on
anyone who doesn't adhere to their strict belief system. Does the name Daniel Pearl (image left) ring a bell?

Westerners (especially Americans) are told that we need to be tolerant of those who practice the muslim faith. Where has that tolerance been reciprocated? Has the sacred city of Mecca been opened up to non-muslims? Last time I heard, no.

The most sickening point in all of this is how our current
administration (and, to some degree, past administrations) has backed a
group who believes that this behavior is perfectly acceptable. How many people will have to be martyred in the name of Christ before someone realizes that these are crimes against humanity and vow to prosecute the perpetrators? I am ashamed that the leaders of the country I love have chosen to endorse evil.

Please continue to pray for the safety of those who are caught in the crossfire of a very ugly power struggle. May the Copts and the muslims who cry for freedom from oppression under Sharia Law be held safe in God's hands.

[Editor's Note: Grammar Nazis will be quick to point out that I do not capitalize the word "muslim". I do this on purpose as a sign of defiance to a religion whose vast majority would want to see me dead for having male friends -- B & G]
This week, the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and kicked California's Proposition 8, defining "marriage" as between one man and one woman, back down to the lower courts. Many DOMA opponents have celebrated while some supporters have seen this as a minor setback in their quest to have the word "marriage" ultimately defined.

The most troubling aspect of this ruling for me isn't whether or not SCOTUS ruled correctly in a social sense, but was the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution just tossed out the window?

Amendment Ten of the United States Constitution reads as follows:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor
prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively,
or to the people. (Emphasis added)

In other words, the powers of governance not specifically outlined within the Constitution as being reserved for the federal government are given to individual states and the citizens within the borders of those states.

The Founding Fathers, I believe, could not have seen the massive power-grab in Washington that we have witnessed in recent years. That is why they sought to explicitly outline what matters the federal government has jurisdiction over. Unfortunately, the bastardization of their intentions has resulted in the feds legislating not only from Capitol Hill but giving powers to the federal courts to legislate from the bench.

Thirteen states have legalized same-sex marriage as of 2013, with many states having bans on same-sex marriage based on either state statute or state constitution. Has this week's SCOTUS ruling put those bans in danger in direct violation of the Tenth Amendment? It could be argued that the bans in effect in those states with prohibitions of same-sex marriage are unconsitutional with the precedent being this week's ruling as citation. Would that not take away the rights given to the states and their people to invoke sovereignty under the the Tenth Amendment in matters not related to the federal government?

Legislation has been proposed within the House of Representatives in the past that would require Congress to specify exactly which enumerated power they are invoking when considering enacting any law. The Enumerated Powers Act (EPA) was introduced in January of 2009 by Rep. John Shadegg (R-AZ) in an effort to keep the feds from overreaching their power concerning states and their citizens. When Congress doesn't agree with a law passed within a state's legislature and approved by the citizens, they wrest control from the states and enact federal legislation overturning the wishes of the states and citizens. How does that NOT violate the Tenth Amendment?

In the workplace, there are rules specifically outlined to ensure that employees stay within the confines of what the company expects. Violate those rules, and you are asked to explain your actions. Asking Congress to cite what authority they have under the Constitution to pass a certain piece of legislation is not unreasonable. It would leave a lot less ambiguity for SCOTUS to sort out in the court system and keep a lot of matters that should be left to the states out of the federal courts
.

The EPA is an idea whose time is, in my opinion, overdue. Unfortunately, Congress will never require themselves to stay within the specific powers given under the Constitution.
Anyone looking for cookware on clearance needs only to go as far as their local Walmart or Sears. Both companies announced that they will no longer be carrying Paula Deen cookware over her past use of a racial slur some 30 years ago. Also jumping the Deen ship are Home Depot, JC Penney, Novo Nordisk, and Caesars Entertainment Corporation. This is not looking good for Paula as she, according to CNN Money online, has hired a professional crisis-management firm.

While I'm not familiar with the official stance of Sears, I am familiar with the official stance of Walmart. Giving only a blanket statement that stores will only carry the once must-have item du jour among those who care about having the latest of everything until the product is sold out, everyone knows why Paula and companies have parted ways.

In the past few days, a co-worker of mine who works in that department has had customers say, "You mean you're still going to carry her product after what she said?" The answer was that until told otherwise, yes. Well, otherwise came. Product availability is limited to the current stock and any orders already placed. No future orders will be processed.

Maybe it's just me, but isn't the bottom line in business turning a profit? A lot of people are ready to boycott any store that carries her products, but there are many people who really don't give a rat's behind about the whole debacle and just want quality products at a reasonable price. Do you cave to the boycott crowd or sell the product and make some money? As one who believes in free market capitalism, I know what I would do. But that's just me.

The media didn't get this wound up over Martha Stewart's crimes. She was
only convicted of insider trading. Now had she used a racial slur...

No one can predict just how far this train is going to run before FINALLY pulling into the station, but you can rest assured that the vilification is far from over.
I believe that when one is relegated to the use of said word, they have, more often than not, run out of intelligent responses to a debate and fall back on Neanderthal tactics. Just my opinion.

Earlier this week, Paula Deen, the Southern belle with the nasally voice who touted Southern cuisine, was fired from The Food Network for her past use of that ugly word. Reports today are that Smithfield Pork, who had hired Deen as a spokesman, has pooped in Paula's grits and is in the market for someone to take over endorsements.

Deen admitted having used the one word that will bring blood to an instant boil in the past. While I would expect something more from a seemingly intelligent business woman, my question is simple: Why are some past mistakes completely excoriated by the left and put into the "unforgivable" category while others are not?

During the murder trial of O.J. Simpson, Mark Fuhrman, a detective with the LAPD, was severely discredited in his testimony because he had, in the past, used the racial slur. O.J. "I won't stop looking for the real killer." Simpson walked. Evidently, the perpetrator of those crimes was on a golf course somewhere because O.J. played a LOT of golf shortly thereafter. Why was the past use of the "n" word by Fuhrman so relevant to the testimony of the facts of the case at hand?

Those who agree with the liberal template of utopia seem to get a pass. Many rap records have used the same word as have many black youth to each other with no repercussions. Why? I mean, if it's wrong for one person to use it, wouldn't common sense dictate that it's wrong across the board?

Liberals are so quick to ostracize anyone who violates their code of conduct. Former U.S. Senator Trent Lott was pressured to step down due to his remarks of the late Strom Thurmond's failed presidential candidacy. Thurmond, an old Southern Dixiecrat who was elected to Congress during segregation, served 48 years in Congress. Yet, the late Robert Byrd, a senator from West Virginia, was held up as a pillar of the Democratic Party for many years despite Byrd's tenure as a member and high-ranking official within his local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan. I guess when you have a "D" after your name, the libs can forgive anything.

Liberal forgiveness doesn't extend only to matters concerning race. For many years, the liberal mindset has been that child molesters in prison can be rehabilitated and deserve a second chance. They have implored that released sex offenders not have the crimes they were convicted of held against them when reentering society. I submit that the second chance those scumbags get is to do the very thing that landed them in jail to begin with. Yet, those who claim to have everyone's civil rights at heart can't get past someone else's past transgressions when those sins offend the left. Can yinz say "hypocrisy"? I knew ya could.

Forgiveness is a matter left to the transgressor and their higher power, whatever that may be. For many, including myself, the words "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us." ring true, and, as long as Paula and God are squared away, that's all that matters.

Hey libs!! The past is gone and it ain't coming back. Examine your own past mistakes and be thankful that someone was willing to forgive you before passing judgment. We all make mistakes and strive to move forward. Can yinz? *crickets*

Dear Mr. Obama has once again put his metatarsals firmly between his molars during a recent trip to Belfast, Northern Ireland. Who's surprised by this?? Not moi.

According to Newsmax.com, our president called for an end to Catholic schools in a country with a history of religious fighting citing:

"If towns remain divided, if Catholics have their schools and
buildings, and Protestants have theirs, if we can't see ourselves in one
another, if fear or resentment are allowed to harden, that encourages
division. It discourages cooperation."

In other words, Mr. Obama has concluded that the Catholic Church is "divisive" by maintaining schools for the education of those who choose to send their children for an education within the private sector instead of a public system that has to answer to government. I submit that school vouchers would afford many more people the option, but that is a subject for another day.

While an argument can be made on both sides either for or against the Catholic Church and their educational system, why hasn't he called the many madrasas (islamic schools or seminaries) around the world as divisive? After all, their mission is to provide an education with an emphasis on islam. How is that not divisive under your definition, Mr. President? Is it because you attended a madrasa as a child living in Indonesia? Inquiring minds are curious.

Didn't anyone screen this comment before his speech? I mean, common sense dictates that you don't go into Northern Ireland and blame one side for all of the violence that occurred over many years. It is insensitivity at its finest.

Mr. President, the only education you seem to approve of is one similar to yours under Frank Marshall Davis and Bill Ayers.

What can be said? For an entire generation, kids have been fed a myriad of lies that have helped to turn them into spoiled, coddled brats. While not all kids are such, I see far too many who are.

Public schools and mainstream media have ensured that the hope for a better future that we parents have in our children has been quelled in exchange for an agenda poised to ruin the very freedoms generations of Americans have loved, fought, and died for. I pray that one day the tide will turn many of today's young people enjoy some of the greatest pleasures of life that my generation did.

To the youth of today:

All of your young lives, you have been told many things. Some are true, some are not. I hope to enlighten you a bit. Trust that my intention is to give you food for thought so you may exercise your God-given right to think for yourselves. The freedom to think for oneself is perhaps the greatest of all rights bestowed upon us by our creator.

Reality Check #1 -- There is NO separation of church and state clause within the Constitution that says you cannot erect a cross on government property. The 'separation' clause seeks only to prevent the government from establishing an official religion for the country in the same manner as many islamic countries. Interpreting the clause to mean that all traces of religion are to be banned from public property only sets to establish atheism as the official government religion in clear violation of the Constitution.

Reality Check #2 -- No one in your life owes you ANYTHING. What you get out of this life will be determined by the amount of hard work you put into making your dreams come to fruition. If you sit back and wait for everything to be handed to you, you will have nothing but the invisible shackles of slavery binding you. When you are given all that you have, you become a puppet of those who say you deserve without having to work for it.

Reality Check #3 -- Corporal punishment is NOT child abuse. Children being beaten and tortured by their caregivers is an abomination under all circumstances, but a swat on the behind of a small child is a totally different thing. You've heard "Spare the rod, spoil the child"? It's true. And, no, it does NOT teach young children to be violent. I offer that being told it's okay to get what you want by using force is what teaches kids to be violent.

Reality Check #4 -- Capitalism is NOT evil. It is what has made this country prosperous since its founding. Do your parents work for what you have? You can thank capitalism for that. When government puts restrictions on capitalism, government becomes the arbiter of what the people deserve. And trust me: government does NOT know what is best for the free individual.

Reality Check #5 -- Evil does exist in this world. There are those who hate America and her people for the way we live. A beautiful, cloudless day in September of 2001 proved that, and no amount of trying to understand and appease those who believe this way will ever change their minds. Appeasement is weakness to them, and they will shake your hand while peeing in your shoes.

Reality Check #6 -- Being exposed to germs will benefit you in the long run. Sure, you may get slightly ill with a cold or flu on occasion, but your immune system will be all the stronger for it. Live in a sterile environment, and your body will not know how to fight off illness.

Reality Check #7 -- You do NOT have the right to NOT be offended. Just as you enjoy freedom of expression, so do those who have opposing views. Don't whine about how offended you are when someone disagrees with you.

Reality Check #8 -- Good self-esteem comes from hard work and success, not the other way around. The drive to succeed will build your self-esteem and make you feel good about your life. When you are taught that 'everyone wins' during your Little League years because there is no score being kept, you grow up thinking that the world will treat you fairly when you reach adulthood. It won't.

Reality Check #9 -- There is no such thing as failure. Falling short of your goal is merely another opportunity to regroup and try again to make your dreams come true.

Reality Check #10 -- Raw cookie dough will not kill you if you eat it. Many generations of people have fought for what is left in the bowl after all the batter has been used. Guess what? We're alive and well. And it's one of the truly decadent pleasures of childhood.

To the youth of today, I pray that some of what I've said causes you to stop and think about everything you get told in school and by the mainstream media. Please stop feeling entitled to everything and learn to be a free individual. It's the most precious thing you will ever learn.

B & Gblackandgoldfanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14466365468884484194noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1439203042410146973.post-14460252533638581922010-08-12T19:13:00.003-04:002010-08-12T21:02:15.004-04:00To the NYC Mosque Supporters
Dear Liberals:

There has been a lot of uproar lately over a proposed mosque to be built near the sacred ground forever known as Ground Zero. You know, the same place where over 3,000 innocent people were burned, crushed, and jumped to a certain death after 19 jihadists decided to declare war on Western civilization. While most sensible people see this as an insult to what those who died on September 11, 2001, there are those of you in the 'Kumbaya' crowd who seem hell bent on making sure that the mosque is built in the name of 'tolerance'.

Do you not realize exactly what this would do to the memory of those who died? Or do you not care? Yes, our Constitution does allow freedom of religion (not freedom FROM religion). No one is saying that a mosque cannot be built anywhere else. But why build it at Ground Zero to serve as a sort of memorial to those who took so many lives because of the way we Americans live? It is the same twisted logic that has islamic symbolism being built into the Flight 93 memorial here in Pennsylvania.

You speak of tolerance and acceptance. Americans have always been accepting and tolerant of those who come to this country to become citizens and enjoy the freedoms granted to us by God. Those who perpetrated the horrific acts on 9/11 were not tolerant or accepting of the principles this country was founded on. Why is it that people who have a problem with the location of this particular mosque are labeled as intolerant? Just as you say you have the right to erect this mosque at Ground Zero, we who disagree with the idea are just as free to voice our opinions against it. The Constitution does not include the right to not be offended by an opposing view.

Here's a suggestion and maybe some food for thought while you're sipping your lattes or bowing five times a day: How about opening up the cities of Mecca and Medina to us 'infidels' (as we non-muslims are called)? From my understanding, only muslims are allowed within these cities, so why not show us how tolerant and truly peace-loving muslims are by doing this? After all, the left is constantly saying just how peaceful and tolerant islam is, so why not put your money (dollars and riyals) where your mouth is? Open up the damned cities to everyone.

Should those of you who support the idea of this mosque win out and the mosque is built on sacred ground, rest assured that it will be just another log thrown on the fire that was ignited in the hearts of those who love this country on 9/11/2001. And we will NEVER forget all the affronts made to desecrate the memory of the innocents since...including this one.

May God continue to bless this great nation and all who love the freedom it affords.

B & Gblackandgoldfanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14466365468884484194noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1439203042410146973.post-71359347365071181912010-08-06T17:42:00.003-04:002010-08-06T17:52:46.881-04:00Congrats, Dick!
I can't believe I almost forgot about this. Though LeBeau is being inducted as a player for his career with the Detroit Lions, he has served as the defensive coordinator for the Steelers since 2004.

From a born-and-raised Steeler fan: Way to go, Dick! While the questions will leave you scratching your head, they were asked in all seriousness by these people. Happy weekend, folks!

Out on the floor working and wearing my name badge, MANY people ask "Do you work here?" I'd love to say, "No. I'm just an extra special customer, so they decided to give me one of these name tags."

"If this belly ring (nose stud, etc.) doesn't look right, can I bring it back for a refund?"

"I know this Wal Mart is open 24 hours, but what time does it close?"

Standing at the jewelry counter (which is located directly across from shoes), a customer asked where they could find shoelaces.

A woman asked to see a ring from the display case and asked what size it was. I replied, "All of our display rings in this case are size 7." Her question? "What about the one next to it?"

"How much does your free ear piercing cost?"

A customer asked if a certain piece of jewelry was white gold or stainless steel. I informed them that it was stainless steel. When asked how I knew, I pointed to the words "stainless steel" in the box.

Minors are required to have a parent give permission for ear piercing. No exceptions. A young man wanted his done and was informed that he needed a parent. Grandma spoke up and said that she had guardianship of him. A co-worker of mine said that we needed proof of that to do the piercing. Grandma gets out her driver's license.

Lastly, but certainly not least, is my favorite: "Bet you get some pretty dumb questions from people, don't ya?"

Have a faboo weekend everyone!!!!blackandgoldfanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14466365468884484194noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1439203042410146973.post-65613663891048815142010-08-04T10:01:00.006-04:002010-08-04T17:02:20.529-04:00The Liberal Bill of Rights
My brain works in crazy ways. While trying to think of a post worthy of posting, I asked myself one question: What if the liberals had written the Bill of Rights within the Constitution? Bingo! My dilemma was solved.

The Liberal Bill of Rights

Amendment I -- Congress shall make no law respecting religion, or encouraging the free exercise thereof; or advocating the freedom of speech (unless you agree with us) , or of the press (We'll handle the press.); or infringe on the right of the people peaceably to assemble (unless you're pro-life).

Amendment II -- A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not exist.

Amendment III -- No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but eminent domain will be used to change ownership to the government.

Amendment IV -- The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not exist.

Amendment V -- No person shall be held to answer for any capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation to be determined by the government.

Amendment VI -- In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district where in the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense. This is only applies to those of us who agree with our agenda. All others will be pursued by the government to the fullest extent.

Amendment VII -- In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law. Unless, of course, we feel you're guilty. Then it's your duty to prove your innocence.

Amendment VIII -- Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted. Said punishment shall be determined by those in government. We know better than you what just punishment is.

Amendment IX -- The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people, dependent upon whether the individual believes in the power of the government to do the right thing.

Amendment X -- The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution shall be allotted to to the proper authorities. My friends and family have been a blessing as has the new man in my life. All have been supportive and caring, and all will have my undying gratitude and love.

Since beginning my new life, I got a job with the nation's largest retailer. The atmosphere there is great, and things are looking up. Starting in apparel, I've moved on to the jewelry department where I got a small raise. A small wonder in the short two months I've been there. Working there has also opened my eyes to some of the things that continue to astound me by those who choose to live off the public dole instead of being free individuals who pave their own way in life.

One of the first things I learned is that most clothing does have limits. When cards are replenished, this is one of the first noticeable things one sees. I really wish I didn't have to see it, but..... For those who may think I'm exaggerating, go to peopleofwalmart.com for proof. Asking that material to hold back more blubber than an Eskimo fishing expedition is like trying to dam the Colorado River with Lincoln Logs.

This next lesson may make some of you queasy, so please take a few moments to grab some Pepto Bismol. Trust me. Ready? Here goes.

Those who carry an EBT card full of YOUR money are able to buy jewelry with it as long as the cash balance allows. This includes certified diamonds, gemstones, and high-end watches. I guess buying silly items such as soap, laundry detergent, or toothpaste escapes some people. Mama needs a new nose stud. And the arrogance with which it is presented is disgusting. It's almost as if the nose of the hard workers of this country is being rubbed in the fact that the only skill these people have is scamming us out of more of our money.

How many of you know that those who use food stamps don't pay taxes on food that you and I do? That's the way it works here in Pennsylvania. While you and I are paying a few extra cents on pop (soda for the rest of yinz) and other taxable food items, they don't. While it may seem petty to gripe about something like that, take the number of cases sold times 36 cents here in PA and do the math. Working people pay $3.60 more on ten cases than those who appear to have no desire to work. Multiply that by the number of cases sold nationwide at different tax rates, and you've got yourself a huge number. Better stop now or I'm going to wind up with a migraine.

So how does one keep their sanity when the welfare floodgates open approximately twice a month? I'll give you a few pointers to hopefully make it a more pleasant experience.

Avoid going there at the beginning and midway through the month. That's when cards are replenished and the entitlement mentality flourishes. If you must go then, be prepared to see things nightmares are made of.

If you can do so, shop very early in the day. Most of the entitlement crowd likes to stay up playing XBox until the wee hours of the morning and sleep until at least noon. This also avoids having to hear them screech at their out-of-control minions. How do I know this? You'd be surprised at the number of them going into the store with their kids in tow when I'm leaving at 11 p.m.

Those of you who have elderly or disabled people with you when you go might want to follow the second bit of advice also. The availability of motorized shopping carts plummets when the welfare crowd descends upon the store.

Thinking of having a cookout on the patio grilling some Delmonico or New York strip steaks? Again, go early. These items are big with those who have a card full of food stamps as are crab legs and pricey seafood.

Avoid the electronics and toy departments unless absolutely necessary. Should you feel the need to get away from these bloodsuckers, go to the cleaning or personal care departments. A lot of them don't spend much time there.

Now that I've done my good deed for the day, I'm going to pose some questions to those dregs of society who have no desire to work. You want the freedom to make your own choices, be free enough to accept the consequences of those decisions.

Why should I have to pay for your cell phone? Here in PA, welfare will provide a cell phone. That's a travesty. If your answer is "Because I deserve to have one just like everyone else", you lose. You deserve it if you earn it. If your answer is "They don't have money for food", you lose once again. Food stamps should not be feeding a steady diet of Ho Ho's and junk food. And it's about time yinz start doing what the rest of us do: get the most for your dollar. Instead of buying the high-end food and lots of convenience foods, get more for less. Just because government gave you a certain amount of my money, be frugal and don't waste it. I don't have a choice in the matter, and neither should you.

When one decides to live off of welfare, why does personal hygiene seem to be the first thing to go? While I understand that circumstances in a person's life may be that they don't have a lot of money (Believe me; I'm living it.), there is NO reason to be filthy dirty. Have some self-respect and some consideration for those around you. Instead of spending $30 on snow crab legs, use it to go to the laundromat. Take the $20-$25 you spend on fancy steaks and buy soap and shampoo. It really doesn't cost that much. You may have to be poor, but you don't have to be dirty. Oh....and please at least wash your children's faces and hands before going out in public. They will learn what you teach them.

Why is it that the generational welfare crowd sees no problem with multiplying like rabbits? If you need welfare for one child, doesn't that give you any hint that it's not going to get better when you have 3, 4, 5, or 8? Refer to #1 for more ranting.

Thanks to those who have taken the time to read my rant. I guess it all boils down to what letter you sport after your name.

There are those decent members of the House who have called for Rangel to resign or step down should the charges against Charlie have merit. Eleven House Dems have not jumped on the All-Hail-Rangel bandwagon. Among them is New York Rep. Michael Arcuri. It could be political theater ahead of what could be an election bloodbath looming in November, but I'd like to believe that someone within that party has a sense of decency and ethics. We shall see.

Rumored to be on the guest list for the "birthday bash" are New York gubernatorial candidate Andrew Cuomo and New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, a liberal Dem and a liberal in RINO clothing respectively. Let's face it. Cuomo and Bloomberg are cut out of the same political cloth and both would proudly throw their undying support behind the liberal agenda. I could see Bloomberg playing the role of ringleader in the circus set to begin in the fall should Charlie not reach a settlement with the House Ethics Committee. "Move along, folks. Nothing to see here."

And let's not forget the Congressional Black Caucus, who has urged the House to withhold judgment on Rangel. Do they mean the way they withheld judgment against the previously-mentioned Trent Lott? I guess uber-liberal members of the caucus, such as Sheila Jackson Lee and Maxine Waters, want America to look at the color of Rangel's skin first before passing judgment. White, black, yellow, red, green, purple, polka dot, or neon pink, the misuse of one's office and tax evasion are wrong and should be punished according to the law. The thought of the caucus losing a member must have all of them breathing into paper bags to keep from hyperventilating. I'm curious to see the caucus's reaction should Rangel be found in violation of not only the ethics rules of the House but the law itself. Will the caucus agree with the committee's findings or will they scream racism? Hmmmm......

Charlie Rangel has been accused of offenses that would have the average American on a straight path to the nearest federal penitentiary. Rewarding his alleged crimes by having a fundraiser under the guise of a birthday celebration is appalling at best. Until the members of government realize that they have no special privilege under the law, we can expect to see the pattern continue.

Hey Charlie! With today's political climate, I thought it was worth reposting.

Illegal Immigration: Part of the Problem

One issue I feel is being overlooked in the midst of this economic crisis is that of illegal immigration. Not the people like our parents, grandparents, or great-grandparents who came to this country with nothing but a dream and the desire to succeed and went through the proper channels to become a part of the greatest country in the history of humankind. I'm talking about the people who come to this country with no desire of becoming a citizen yet want to suckle from the taxpayers' teat.

The southern border states with Mexico are especially hard-hit. People stream across our southern border every day and stream back across the border at day's end. I wish they'd make up their minds: Become a U.S. citizen and enjoy the fruits of the hard work of this country or remain a Mexican citizen. If you choose the first, we welcome you with open arms. Should you choose the latter, please stay home. Why are we allowing this to happen?

Many illegal immigrants are taking advantage of the American taxpayers. Pregnant women are wading through the Rio Grande to have their babies in American hospitals so the babies are U.S. citizens. Guess who pays for that? Look at your pay stub. Then, since they are illegal but their children are not, they get welfare. Do I hear a Kumbaya from the choir?

This country's educational system is also being drained of resources. In years past, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, I've heard stories of buses within the San Diego school system driving across the border to pick up children in Mexico to bring them back to San Diego to go to school. Who pays for that? Look at your pay stub. Think of how much money the school systems in this country could save if they didn't have to pay for students whose parents do not contribute to the system.

While I believe we should not turn away those people who want to be productive members of this melting pot we call The Greatest Nation on Earth, we do need to address the problem of illegal immigration, and we need to show tough love.

First, I suggest not one but TWO fences about 20 yards apart. In between those fences, let's use military surplus land mines. It sounds cruel, but it worked in Berlin for many years, didn't it? And those who come here to get freebies would have something to think about before hopping the fence.
When they start to tunnel, deploy troops to patrol the double fence. If troops are unavailable, deputize the Minutemen.

Second, we need to stop the treatment of illegal immigrants in our hospitals. If you don't have a valid form of identification when you arrive at the ER, so sorry. Most people, no matter how dire the emergency is, usually carry some form of ID. If you're in a car accident, that's usually how they find out who you are. And repeal the "Born Here; U.S. Citizen" rule. Women have had healthy babies in countries much poorer than Mexico. We can't afford to do this anymore.

Third, the schools need to push for more stringent criteria in verifying citizenship of those whose children are to enter our school system. You want your child to have an education in the U.S. schools? Get in line and become a citizen.

Lastly, NO GOVERNMENT PAPERWORK IN LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH!!! You want to access taxpayer money? Become a citizen and learn to speak our language (or what SHOULD be our official language).

While it may seem like I'm targeting only illegal Mexican immigrants, I'm not. There are illegal immigrants from all over the world in this country. They need to go back to their countries of origin until they decide that they want to be a citizen of this country. That includes Obama's great aunt who is living in subsidized housing in Boston. Yep...you read that right. No wonder Dear Leader is so unwilling to tackle this problem. Or maybe it's because he knows he'd be deported and we would no longer be paying for his lavish spending.

This country was built up by the sweat, blood, and hard work of those who dared to leave everything behind and start anew in an uncertain land with no expectation of a handout. Unfortunately, those ideals are being lost by those who wish to take and not give.blackandgoldfanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14466365468884484194noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1439203042410146973.post-14876584638110627062010-04-29T06:08:00.006-04:002010-04-29T06:44:17.955-04:00Iran to Crack Down on Suntanned Women
Ah, yes. "In some areas of north Tehran we can see many suntanned women and young girls who look like walking mannequins."

"We are not going to tolerate this situation and will first warn those found in this manner and then arrest and imprison them."

Many women in Iran have come to embrace their beauty and become quite the stylistas, choosing freedom over the oppressive rules set forth by those living in caves. Iranian law dictates that women must wear headscarves and burqas to hide their shape, but many women, especially in Tehran, thumb their noses at the law and barely follow it (You go, girls!).

One of Iran's leading clerics, Ayatollah Kazim Sadighi, explained that when women dress inappropriately (define that, please), men become excited, and the result is earthquakes. That right. We now know what caused the devastation in Haiti. It wasn't a shift in tectonic plates, it was all those women partaking of life in the sun.

Other than the obvious oppression of the rights of these women as human beings, where is the end of this slippery slope? Sure, they say that it's only going to be those who sunbathe, but what about women who have to walk miles in the sun to the market? Will they one day be accused of violating the law? Or what of the women who help on the family farms and work in the sun all day? Do they face potential jail time?

The women of the resistance movement in Iran need our continued prayers for strength to fight against their oppressors and for their basic rights as human beings. Muslim women (usually of Middle Eastern descent) being killed for disgracing their family "honor". The reasons for these "honor killings" have ranged from befriending boys (the nerve!) to being too westernized, and the number of women around the globe falling victim to this neanderthal mentality continues to increase.

In order to avoid the possible death penalty for not remaining a virgin until marriage, the BBC is reporting that many women are keeping their sex lives a secret and opting for a procedure known as 'hymenoplasty', a procedure where the hymen is reconnected to restore virginity and ensure blood being spilled on the marital sheets. The cost of the procedure is approximately 2,000 Euros and is done by Dr. Marc Abecassis, an Arab doctor practicing in Paris.

Dr. Abecassis has performed the procedure in some cases because a woman needs a certificate of virginity to marry. His average patient for the procedure is approximately 25 years old and from any social background. He adds:

"She can be in danger because sometimes it's a matter of traditions and family," says Dr Abecassis. "I believe we as doctors have no right to decide for her or judge her."

Thank Heaven that there are Arab men out there who have recognized the rights of women in that culture to live their lives without judgment. He's most likely in the minority. Noor, a young professional from Damascus, has another opinion.

"I know girls who went through this restoration and they were caught out on their wedding night by their husbands," he says. "They realised they weren't virgins. Even if society accepts such a thing, I would still refuse to marry her."

Those women are better off because of your opinion, pal. You're doing them a favor by choosing not to marry them, you troglodyte.

What is it going to take for the world to acknowledge a whole underclass of women who live in fear of their lives because of a mentality that pre-dates the dinosaurs? How many more women have to attempt or commit suicide because they feel that it's their only way out of being tortured to death in the name of "honor"? And how many more women have to live with the fear that they may be found out?

Until the world starts to speak out for these women who defy custom and Sharia Law, look for the numbers to increase.

Please pray for these women.blackandgoldfanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14466365468884484194noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1439203042410146973.post-22045294580876711932010-04-26T06:30:00.001-04:002010-04-26T06:30:00.281-04:00This Chapter is Complete
After a long and trying journey, I'm here to say that a new chapter is beginning in my life. I'm still unsure about what the future holds for me, but I'm not afraid to take charge anymore. Having both made mistakes in this marriage, my husband and I have decided to call it quits.

I'm continuing to learn from all of this. I've learned that I'm a lot stronger than I've given myself credit for at times and that life is too precious to sit by and watch the world without being a part of it. Adversity may come up and bite us in the behind from time to time, but how we handle that adversity speaks to our character.

When we first met, we truly thought that we had found our soulmates. We had our bumps in the road, but they were speed bumps and not potholes. We worked together to face and resolve problems. I don't know where we lost that, but we did. Maybe the place in the road where we lost that was too far back to try and find it again. I don't know.

As many of you have read, we hit extremely rough times of late. Between work, home, and life in general, the will to fight for our marriage diminished. Compound mistakes on both sides, and the odds of finding what we once had were microscopic. The only thing that hasn't diminished is our love for our kids. THEY are the reason we've decided to focus everything on them and their well-being. They've got all the support from both of us that they'll ever need.

In a few weeks, I'll be moving to my own place close by. I'm purchasing a home for me and the kids, and their lives will only be disrupted a bit. They'll attend the same schools and have the opportunity to visit with dad every evening if they so choose. Friends from school will be their neighbors, and the opportunity for them to gain social skills is there. Once again, God has blessed me.

Things may have not worked out for me and the husband, but I hope he finds happiness. I wish him no ill will regardless of the past mistakes we've made. The kids think the world of him, and I'll not tarnish that image. Truthfully, we've been more civil since coming to this decision than we have in a long time. We've vowed to move forward with our lives, and I have much hope and anticipation to see where this new road leads.

To anyone out there who may be in the same position as I was when this journey started: There is hope (and not the stupid BHO kind) for happiness and peace. Stay strong, stay focused, and ALWAYS be true to yourself. You're much too special to settle for anything less. You deserve all the happiness the world has to offer. Don't think that you don't. And always keep the faith. It moves mountains and blazes new paths for us to follow.

I just hope the world is ready for a B & G fan with a taste for life.blackandgoldfanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14466365468884484194noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1439203042410146973.post-1235306675693166272010-04-23T07:43:00.002-04:002010-04-23T07:46:15.318-04:00Look Out World!
