Please Pray for Jennifer

Monday morning, I was talking to my mother. Working weekends at the bar, I don't really get to see much news since I've been putting in close to 40 hours in 3 days. The story she told me made me sick and worried about the world we live in.

Jennifer Daugherty (photo) was 30 years old. Mentally challenged, she was independent enough to regularly take a bus from her home in a town near my home to go to appointments and shop. Last weekend, the trusting Jennifer found her way to a home in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. The six scumbags there spent the next 36 hours beating Jennifer with a towel rack and crutch, making her drink urine, bleach, and detergent, and finally stabbing her to death. Her body was then put in a garbage can and left in the parking lot of a local school.

The six suspects are: Robert Loren Masters Jr., 36; Ricky V. Smyrnes, 23; and Melvin Knight, 20, all of 428 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Greensburg; Peggy Darlene Miller, 27, Mt. Pleasant Township; Amber C. Meidinger, 20, of 103 Indiana Drive, Building O, Greensburg; and Angela Marinucci, 17, of Greensburg.

The story hit home for me because having two high-functioning special needs kids, I worry for their safety when I'm gone. Knowing I'm not going to live forever, I've tried to foster independence in them as any parent would, but this story makes me very afraid. What has happened to humanity when those who need the most compassion are fodder for someone's sick games?

The local media here has already tried garnering compassion for one of these sick freaks. Apparently, Amber Meidinger's mother had tried to sell her for $10,000 when Amber was six years old. What the hell does that have to do with poor Amber's involvement with this crime? The bleeding hearts would say that because she spent so much time in foster care that it emotionally scarred her. Boo freakin' hoo for Amber. She's still a scumbag.

As parents, we try to nurture our children to survive in this tough world. Parents with children who have limited understanding have it even tougher. Bastards like these six make me wonder if there is anything at all we parents can do to fully prepare our kids.

Today's society seems to have devalued human life to the point of almost no return. Distortion of abortion by the feminist movement coupled with light sentencing for heinous acts in the name of "understanding" has produced a generation of people who have no regard for life. To this generation, life has no value.

Also at issue is the fact that society no longer puts a stigma on the word "retarded." Used freely by many people and those in high offices (I'm talking to you, Mr. Emanuel!), I've always found the word offensive when used as an insult. Those who struggle with mental handicaps didn't ask for the added challenge of trying to fit into society and be accepted by us "normal" people. The lack of a stigma using the "r" word in a derogatory manner has taken away the compassion and understanding that the mentally challenged need.

I think innocent life should be held in the highest regard. I use the qualifier "innocent" because I believe in the death penalty. And if any people deserve it, it's these people. I think, though, that lethal injection would be too easy for them. Bring back Ol' Sparky or, better yet, make them relive what they did to Jennifer through her eyes. THAT would be justice well served.

As of last night, the report is that this will be prosecuted as a hate crime. Thank God some common sense has temporarily taken hold in the DOJ.

I ask that you please say a prayer for Jennifer, one of the newest members of God's legion of angels. She is happy, loved, and safe. Though missed by this world, we will meet her one day in Heaven. I truly believe that.

Hasan Could Get Death Penalty, Needs Presidential Approval

The whole Fort Hood massacre issue makes me more and more sad as the days wear on.

I sent an email to some of my blogger pals earlier today asking them to please consider listing the death toll at Ft. Hood as 14. Private Francheska Velez was three months pregnant, and I didn't want the death of her baby to be overlooked. Right Guy asked a great question in his reply that begged looking into, and I told him I'd try to find an answer.

The question was in regards to something he had heard about Obama having to sign off on the execution of Nidal Malik Hasan should the turd get the death penalty. I wish I hadn't found the answer.

According to an article by the AP, the bulk of the case against Hasan could be decided by the commander of Ft. Hood, Lt. Gen. Robert Cone, in a military trial. The jury would consist of 12 officers of higher rank or seniority, and they would all have to agree on the verdict and death sentence. Only a three-fourths consensus is needed to impose a life sentence.

Should the jury do the right thing and hand down a death sentence, military protocol dictates that to carry out a military execution, the POTUS (in this case POSOTUS -- Piece Of S*** of the United States) must sign off on it.

From the AP:

The president's involvement also sets military death-penalty cases apart. The president can commute any federal death sentence, civilian or military but must personally approve each military execution and sign an order to carry it out. [Emphasis mine--blackandgoldfan]

Considering the sympathy Obamarx has shown to the Muslim world, what do you think the chances are of THAT happening? I'd be voted Playmate of the Year before BHO would turn on a Muslim brother.

Being that involvement in a military execution is required by the president, that makes it a political issue. Given his political track record, who do you think Dear Leader would side with? Those of us who believe in justice or the whining left who thinks we need to "understand" Hasan?

The trial may not start for months as military prosecutors build a solid case. That would put the start of such a trial in at LEAST 2010 or possibly early 2011. What happens in 2012? If you said the world is set to end, you are an alarmist. If you said "Presidential election," put a Black and Gold star on your chart for the day.

In the past 25 years, only 15 people have been given a federal death sentence. Of that fifteen, two were commuted by commanding generals, and eight were thrown out on appeal. One of those that was carried out was that of Timothy McVeigh. That leaves four people who may yet be awaiting a date with the needle.

Let's make it five.

(HUGE h/t to Right Guy! Great job!)

Mumia's Time May Be Drawing Near

Last night, John Allen Muhammed drew his last breath as he was executed by lethal injection at 9:11 p.m. Muhammed was the mastermind behind the DC sniper attacks that terrorized the Washington metropolitan area in October of 2002. His accomplice, Lee Boyd Malvo, is serving multiple life sentences without the possibility of parole.

On Monday, the U.S Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty for an Ohio man, Robert Van Hook was convicted of killing and mutilating a man he met in a gay bar in 1985. Van Hook's attorneys had argued that his trial attorneys had failed to do an effective job in Van Hook's defense. The SCOTUS disagreed and cleared the way for Van Hook's death sentence to be reinstated.

A decision is pending in another Ohio case that could clear the way for states to once again take charge of the death penalty within their borders. The Ohio Attorney General argued yesterday to have the death sentence upheld for Frank Spisak, a dirtbag who killed three people at Cleveland State University. He showed up to his 1983 trial sporting a Hitler mustache and bragging of his hate for blacks. His new attorneys have argued that the jury instructions were flawed during the sentencing phase of his trial. SCOTUS may not decide this for weeks or months.

All of this could potentially pave the way for Hollywood's most loved murderer, Mumia Abu- Jamal, to finally be put to death. SCOTUS refused to hear Jamal's appeal in April 2009, and prosecutors in Philadelphia filed a reinstatement appeal that has not yet been heard by the high court. For more on Mumia, you can go to wikipedia or an earlier post I did.

Depending on the outcome of the Spisak case, Pennsylvania could potentially give Daniel Faulkner and his family some closure by citing the Spisak case as precedent. Former Governor Tom Ridge twice signed death warrants for Jamal only to have some liberal court find a reason why Mumia should continue to live off the taxpayer's money. It's been 27 years since the original sentence was handed down by a unanimous jury, and Governor Ed Rendell has vowed to sign a death warrant should Jamal's original sentence be reinstated before he leaves office.

In light of the argument before SCOTUS in the Spisak case, a bunch of socialist and liberal sites have become scared that Mumia's punishment may be around the corner. Personally, his punishment is long overdue.

From the Party for Socialism and Liberation's website:

The life of African American leader and death-row prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal is in new danger. A pending U.S. Supreme Court ruling on a case in Ohio could set the stage for the reinstatement of Mumia’s death sentence. Mumia’s case is also separately before the U.S. Supreme Court, but presented by Philadelphia prosecutors seeking to have his death sentence reinstated.

Prosecutors and politicians in Pennsylvania and Philadelphia have vengefully sought to execute Mumia for 28 years. He has been on death row since 1983, when he was wrongly convicted of killing Philadelphia policeman Daniel Faulkner on Dec. 9, 1981.

In Mumia’s trial, flagrant violations—false police testimony, coercion of witnesses, judicial and prosecutorial misconduct, exclusion of Black jurors, inadequate defense and pervasive racism—led to his wrongful conviction and death sentence. The overriding issue that allowed these violations is the deeply racist and repressive nature of Philadelphia’s ruling apparatus and collusion by the police, prosecutors and courts.

Holy crap! That much liberal spewing just made my head hurt.

Another bunch of liberal mush from indybay.org:

What the Supreme Court will do, however, is far from clear. It will also consider Spisak’s new attorney’s argument that his jury trial lawyers were incompetent in essentially arguing during their trial summation that Spisak was essentially an extreme and horrific nut case who barely understood what he was doing. Should the Supreme Court chose to ignore or side-step Pennsylvania’s Mills arguments and rule only on the issue of ineffective assistance of counsel, the chances of Mumia’s execution recede considerably. The court could also chose to remand the case back to the lower courts to reconsider their previous Mills interpretation in light of the Supreme Court’s possible new instructions on this issue. Second guessing the courts in Mumia’s 28-year legal sojourn has stumped virtually the entire legal community, or at least those who believe that the laws of the land should be implemented without prejudice to the individual concerned. In virtually every instance, however, this has not been the case; an unending series of legal atrocities have been perpetrated against Mumia that expose the criminal “justice” system for the fraud it is in racist and classist America.

Mumia is far from out of danger, especially when his very life, in legal terms, presently hinges on the whims of the Supreme Court, the institution that has already denied his request for a hearing before them on another issue, the systematic and racist exclusion of Black jurors. Such exclusion is explicitly prohibited in the historic 1986 Supreme Court ruling in the case of Batson v. Kentucky. But the court once again ignored its own rulings and even decisions that strengthened Batson claims to hasten Mumia's demise. In every sense Mumia’s life is on the line as never before. Pennsylvania’s Governor Ed Rendell is pledged to sign what could be the third and final warrant for Mumia’s execution, a warrant that would likely order that his life be taken by lethal injection.

Remember, folks, that the louder the left screams, the more common sense it makes. To obligate the residents of Pennsylvania and the United States to foot the bill for Mumia Abu-Jamal for over 20 years is criminal in and of itself. Now that the left is whining about how this could be it for Mumia, we can only gather that carrying out the original sentence is the right thing to do.

Does anyone know where I can get an application to push the plunger??

Why PA Needs a Republican Governor

I'm thanking the Good Lord above that we are in the final year of Ed Rendell's last term. Pennsylvania has always leaned to the left due to the population concentrations in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, but Republican governors are not unheard of.

I was reading some polling data on RCP that shows Democrat Dan Onorato slightly ahead of Republican Tom Corbett (former State AG). Then I realized there is one reason this state needs a Republican governor: Mumia Abu-Jamal.

This piece of human excrement entered the world as Wesley Clark in April of 1954. He claims that he was given the name "Mumia" by a teacher during an African studies exercise in school and later adopted the surname "Abu-Jamal" (father of Jamal) after the birth of his son in 1971.

At the age of 15, he helped found the Philadelphia chapter of the Black Panthers in 1969 after he and three friends were beaten by white supremacists at a George Wallace rally they were protesting. Mumia successfully petitioned to have his former high school's name changed from Benjamin Franklin Senior High to Malcolm X High. Wouldn't want to honor a Founding Father now, would he? His alliance to black separatism and racism has never wavered throughout his life.

On December 9, 1981, Abu-Jamal shot and killed Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner after being pulled over. Faulkner was able to shoot Mumia once, and, according to a prosecution witness at the hospital, Abu-Jamal was quoted as saying, "I shot the mother fucker, and I hope the mother fucker dies." The prosecution presented six different witnesses who testified that Mumia was indeed the killer. They couldn't all be wrong, could they? Common sense says the odds are staggering.

After a three-hour deliberation, the jury returned a unanimous guilty verdict, and Mumia Abu-Jamal was sentenced to death. He's still sitting on death row as I type this. He has been given 27 more years on this earth than the officer he killed and has continued to spread his hate-filled anti-white rhetoric on the taxpayer's dime. Amnesty International has come to the defense of this scumbag as have many high-profile celebrities such as Danny Glover, Susan Sarandon, Whoopi Goldberg, Nelson Mandela, and others. All claim that evidence was fabricated and stories have changed over the years. There are even reports that someone else since confessed to shooting Faulkner. Abu-Jamal has been made an honorary citizen of over 26 cities around the globe such as Paris (of course) and Copenhagen. Like the JFK assassination, the truth will probably never be known.

In April of this year, the SCOTUS upheld the murder conviction and, as of this writing, the prosecution is waiting to hear whether the death penalty will be part of that ruling. Damn straight it should! The rush was on to execute Timothy McVeigh (a white racist dirtbag), but let the state carry out the sentence on a black racist, and the howls from the left will echo into deep outer space. Does it make sense to anyone?

Amnesty International should thank their lucky stars that I won't be elected to the governor's office. Should that ever happen, I'll sign the damn death warrant five minutes after taking the oath. I would hope a Republican governor would do the same. The family of Daniel Faulkner deserves closure.
