Pennsylvania Going Republican--Latest Polls Show Hope

I never thought I'd live to see the day where Arlen "Magic Bullet Theory" Specter would be unseated. Here in Pennsylvania, he's become almost as entrenched in his seat as Ted Kennedy was. By now, the actual seat itself is probably growing into Specter's gluteus maximus. From all accounts, though, it looks like Specter's days are numbered as are the rest of the Dems in this state (I will NOT use the word 'commonwealth').

In a poll conducted by The Philadelphia Daily News, Pat Toomey, a former U.S. Representative from the Allentown area, has opened up a 14-point lead over Specter in the fight for the Senate seat coming up for grabs. Could Pennsylvania be the next Massachusetts? I pray so.

Among likely voters, Toomey leads Snarlin' Arlen 45-31 percent with 20 percent undecided. I will tell you folks that in Pennsylvania, that's saying something.

"I can't deny it's all very encouraging," Toomey said. "But I'm also very aware of the fact that the election is nine months away. A lot can happen. So I'm going to run like I'm 20 points behind."

Pat Toomey lost to Specter in 2004, but it was a narrow victory for Specter, who defected to the Dems last year.

U.S. Rep. Joe Sestak (D), of Delaware County, is leaving his job to challenge Specter in the primary. In the poll, Sestak doesn't fare as well against Toomey as Specter does.

Among likely voters, Toomey leads 41-19 percent with 37 percent undecided. Registered voters favor Toomey over Sestak 28-16 percent with 51 percent undecided. In short, a Toomey-Sestak matchup would be a massacre.

Also in Pennsylvania, the reign of "Fast Eddie" Rendell is coming to an end (THANK GOD!) after Rendell served the maximum two terms as governor. In this race, the most likely candidates are going to be former AG Tom Corbett for the Republicans and Allegheny County Executive Dan Onarato for the Democrats. Trust me when I say that the people of Pennsylvania DO NOT want Onarato as governor. When one looks at how Allegheny County has been run in recent years and how the assessment of property has been bungled, it proves that Onarato is not the man to be running the state.

How this all plays out is going to be interesting to watch. I'm sure ACORN is going to be VERY active in Pennsylvania. There are a lot of dead people that need to register to vote.

Specter in Trouble

Politico.com has reported that a Netroots Nation straw poll shows Specter behind Representative Joe Sestak (D-PA) by a large margin.

Netroots Nation, a group of progressive and liberal bloggers and activists, is showing overwhelming support for Sestak with 48 percent of the 252 votes submitted. Specter got 10 percent. One third of the votes were undecided, and seven percent voted 'neither.' This could be Specter's Waterloo.

Specter stunned absolutely no one when he announced his switch to the Democratic Party earlier this year. We knew for years that he definitely was not a Republican. Speculation was that the switch was made out of fear of losing the Republican primary to Pat Toomey. Well, that just didn't pan out very well, did it? In fact, a recent poll pitting Specter as the Democratic candidate against Republican Toomey showed that Snarlin' Arlen would lose...big time.

While I definitely would not support Sestak, I do find it ironic karma has come around to bite Specter in the butt. Sestak, former Rear Admiral in the Navy, has received a 100% rating from NARAL, a group that would die before letting Roe v. Wade be overturned. Joe has also been quoted as saying that he was “150 percent behind a public option” when it comes to Obamacare.

Netroots Nation, in their poll, also had 95% of their voters give Dear Leader a very favorable rating in job performance. Of course they did. They represent the sort of mindless simps that Dear Leader would like everyone to be. Blind followers; nothing more.

It's going to be interesting to watch this play out. Pennsylvania law prohibits the loser of a primary from running as an independent in the general election.

Bye Arlen! You should've been gone long, long ago.

I'm a Democrat: You Owe Me

Someone hit my site the other day using the colorful search terms "fuck every last republican.” Apparently he/she/it was a bit angry about something. Sitemeter indicated they didn’t stick around too long, either.

Was it something I said?

Curious, because I have a fondness for deconstructing moonbat rantings, I clicked back on he/she/its inbound link and found this little gem from the always cheerful Daily Kos partway down the search results.

It got me to thinking, as things of this nature will do, so I came up with this:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I’m a democrat. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. I have my own pile of money, but I want yours, too, including the four pennies you have rattling around in the bottom of that peanut butter jar you frugal idiots like to use as a change holder. Give it up! You owe me.

I’m a democrat. I just say I like the public school system. My kids go to private schools so that your kids can go to public schools and learn how to be good little democrats like me. When my kids grow up and become better members of a collectivist society, and your kids grow up confused, my kids will get government jobs and take more money and freedom from your kids. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. I have a job with health insurance, but I think it’s everyone else’s fault when I get sick and have to cut back on my lifestyle so I can pay for health care that should be free, along with cars and houses and big screen TVs. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. There is no god. You can go ahead and get down on your knees and pray to the ceiling for forgiveness and strength and peace, but I’ll be standing right behind you with a tire iron, bashing your skull and stealing your wallet. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. I hate people. I would rather sleep with my dog or a cucumber or a tree than with another person…unless I can just dump them on the curb after we’re through. You just have sex to make more people so you can continue to earn more money while you rape the planet. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. I love taxes. It’s patriotic…for you…to pay them. I don’t pay any, anyway. And if I have to, I’ve figured out loop holes or have offshore accounts to shelter my money, so the government never really gets too much from me anyway. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. It’s not only my right but also my duty to take freedom and representative republicanism from you, little by little, and replace it with government bureaucracy. From each according to his ability, to each according to his need. I’m needy. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. I have a $20 million vacation playground on Martha’s Vineyard and a guarded compound in South Chicago and belong to the richest majority in Washington’s history. But I hate rich people who aren't democrats and want your property too so I can save endangered swamp rats and build turtle tunnels and fix toilets. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. There are more of you than there are of me. You breathe too much. I’ve told the world outlandish lies that you’re causing global warming, using faulty correlations to get everyone so worried they’re about to let me tax thin air. And you’ll breathe a lot less. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. I’m an elitist. I’m perfect. I’m not like all of you stupid wingnuts out there working your greedy little fingers to the bone trying to make a little money and feed your family and have something to call successful when you retire. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. I live in the city so I can get stupid drunk and piss on the streets when I want and kick your parked car when it gets in my way. It’s too bad that you have all those guns in your humble suburban and country homes. If you didn’t, I’d come and toss you out on your naked ass and make you live in the fetid cities that my government policies screwed up. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. I think you hate homosexuals. I have no idea that you just want to be left alone and live your life the way you see fit and not have your children taught with government money that they should seek alternative lifestyles for the fun of it. I just want you to do what I think you should do with your life. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. I’m so tolerant I can’t tolerate anyone who doesn’t think the way I do. In fact, I hate white people. I hate all people. I hate myself. I hate myself so much that I hate you even more when you are happy. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. I don’t know how to do anything for myself. I need to be told what to do. I don’t think human beings are capable of taking care of themselves. That’s what government is for. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. I don’t think any people should have rights. I think fish and frogs and grass should, however, and I want to represent them in court…and you to pay for it. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. I’m a child. I act like a child and I think like a child and I live like a child and I throw up my hands and have little fits when I don’t get my way. There should be no consequences for anything I do. But there should be consequences for you, even if you’re blameless in what I accuse you of. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. I’m racist but I get others to think that you are racist just because I call you one. It’s a riot to watch you squirm because I know you have a conscience. I do not. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. I was born poor or middle class or rich, but it doesn’t matter. I was born black or white or Asian or Latina, but it still doesn’t matter. In fact, it’s Bush’s fault that I was even allowed to be born at all. You owe me.

I’m a democrat. I want health care at your expense, while I’m young and virulent and child-like. But then I want you to kill me when I start to get old and weak and feeble, so that all of my young and virulent and child-like democrat friends can have health care at your expense.

Then I want to come back to life as a rock, so lots of birds can shit on me. They owe me, too, for being a loony moonbat.

Here Comes Hope (No, Really!!!)

I found on politico.com a VERY interesting article about how Obamascare could be in trouble in the House.

It seems that a group of centrist Dems, calling themselves the New Democrat Coalition, has been meeting with Blue Dog Dems in an effort to stem the size and scope of a government-sponsored health insurance option. Their goal is to ensure that the private insurance system isn't undermined (or so they say). These Dems are going after Education and Labor Committee Chairman George Miller (D-Calif.), Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.) and Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry "Nostrils" Waxman (D-Calif.), who are writing the House health care bill. All the usual "I'm from the gubment, and I'm here to hep you" suspects.

Combined, the New Dems and Blue Dog Dems have 102 votes. That's more than one-third of the Democratic Caucus, which could put Nancy "I wasn't briefed" Pelosi in a bind because she needs moderate Dems to get this thing through. It could get interesting folks.

Maybe we should take up a collection to send her duct tape. Her head's gonna explode if she has to choose between moderate Dems and what Dear Leader wants.

Snarlin' Arlen: The Dems' New B**ch

The picture says it all.

Being from Pennsylvania, it has been frustrating all these years to see Arlen Specter putting an "R" after his name and deserting all us "R"s out here. No one in this state was surprised when he announced earlier this year that he was leaving the party for the Democratic Party. In fact, most of us were ready to have a kegger.

Last Saturday, Specter made his debut to the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, and the swooning began. Pam Janvey, a Democratic committeewoman from Bucks County, was quoted “Am I in a dream?” Yeah, honey. A real nightmare.

Arlen didn't pass up the opportunity to slam former Rep. Pat Toomey, even though Toomey's name was not mentioned. Pat Toomey lost his last Senate bid in the primary to Specter but has remained on the radar. Pat was most likely going to be Specter's main opponent in the primary, but, ever the slimeball, Specter bailed out and opted for the path of least resistance by switching parties. Arlen warned that his opponent for the Senate seat would be “far outside the mainstream, a senator who makes Rick Santorum look like a liberal.” Not so.

As much as the left likes to bash Rick Santorum, who lost his Senate seat to Bob Casey, I always admired Rick for his courage to stand his ground on his beliefs. My husband and I were fortunate enough to hear him speak at a dinner about five years ago, and even back then he was warning of the coming Islamic threat. He knew the issues. Another thing that I always remember about Santorum was seeing him on TV giving an interview on Ash Wednesday one year: with the ashes still on his head.

Arlen Sphincter, I mean Specter, was never a true Republican. Thank goodness he finally had the courage to be honest with the people of this state.
