ACLU Wants War Cross Gone

Ah, more twisted thinking by our friends at the American Communist Leninist Union.

According to newsmax.com, the ACLU wants a memorial cross remembering war dead removed from atop Sunrise Rock in the Mojave Desert, citing the bogus claim of separation of church and state. The cross, first erected in 1934 by the VFW to remember all fallen heroes, now sits shrouded until the U.S. Supreme Court hears the case. Mojave National Preserve falls under the control of the National Parks Service.

Has anyone ever told the ACLU that there is no separation of church and state in the Constitution? The First Amendment clearly states:

"Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;..."

In other words, Congress cannot establish an official government religion, such as Islam being the official religion in many countries Barry loves to travel to. The ACLU also ignores the "prohibiting the free exercise thereof" clause.

When the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Madeline Murray O'Hair and the American Atheists to ban prayer in public school, it put this nation on a slippery slope. I like to argue that by banning Christian symbols in schools, banning a nativity scene at city hall, and not allowing a child to talk about the Bible at show-and-tell is actually establishing atheism as the official government religion. I like Quinn's first law (go to warroom.com to find out who Quinn is): Liberalism always generates the exact opposite of its stated intent. How very true.

How would the ACLU react if a Muslim was in the White House and wanted to do daily prayers in what is technically a taxpayer-owned property? Oops....already have that. Still waiting for the reaction from the ACLU. Maybe if I hold my breath....

Ginsburg Smacks Down Barry

In a move that surprised me, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg put the brakes on the sale of Chrysler to Italy's Fiat. I bet Barry's REALLY hacked off! This was going to be his shining moment!

Three Indiana state pension and construction funds, which have a stake in Chrysler's debt, are challenging the restructuring plan of Chrysler saying that unsecured debtholders are unfairly being favored over secured debtholders. Secured debtholders are being paid 29 cents on the dollar for a total of $2 billion. The combined secured debt they've chipped in is about $6.9 billion.

The group is also challenging the restructuring plan on a constitutional argument. They claim that the use of TARP funds by the Treasury Department to supply Chrysler's bankruptcy protection financing never received Congressional approval. As if something like the Constitution has ever stopped this administration.

Chrysler has said that the sale must close by June 15, or Fiat has the option of walking away from it, leaving Chrysler the only option of liquidation.

If Chrysler were to liquidate, do you think the taxpayers are going to see any return on their money? Don't hold your breath, kids.

Harry Reid Gushes Over Sotomayor

Harry Reid (D-NV), Senate majority leader, has come out singing the praises of Sonia Sotomayor calling her "the total package". Of course, coming from Pinky this is no surprise. But "total package"???

Let's take a trip down Memory Lane to see what has the left in such a state of euphoria.

• Being a minority, Sotomayor fits the template of forced diversity the left just LOVES. Hey guys!!! What happened to finding the most qualified person for the job regardless of race or gender? When you seek the best based on merit, diversity automatically follows.
• She was able to make a blatantly racist remark and get away with it. Remember Don Imus's comment that got him fired? Or Trent Lott's comments to Strom Thurmond that put pressure on him to step down? I guess when you're a liberal, IT'S DIFFERENT.
• The left is completely gaga over her because they will be one step closer to making sure that abortion and gun control are kept in place. Oh...and Affirmative Action will forever continue to divide people.

We can see that this nominee was chosen for all the wrong reasons. Are all nominees to the Supreme Court political? Yep. But when you take into account all this administration has done, does anyone truly believe that she was nominated for reasons other than to cement a Marxist/Socialist agenda? I have my doubts.
