One Down, Three To Go

Today marks the end of the first year of the regime of BHO. And what a year it has been! Definitely a lot of material for us bloggers within that first year.

Before I get into the rant about BHO's first year, my most heartfelt "congrats" goes out to Scott Brown (you little piece of eye candy!) for finally bringing honor back to the Senate seat in Massachusetts. Now go kick some a$$, buddy!!! Time to rant.

The first order of business for the administration was to order the closing of Gitmo. Heaven forbid that we treat those kept there as enemy combatants in the war on terrorism. Now, we have the trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and ilk slated to take place in New York City, the very place where they killed thousands of Americans on 9/11. It's a travesty and an insult.

Unprecedented spending also took place within that first year. Cash for Clunkers, stimulus money, bank bailouts, and the takeover of two of the major three automakers headlined for weeks. Unemployment has risen to over 11%, and many Americans are still being asked to tighten their belts while the government spends OUR money like drunken sailors on shore leave. What ever happened to living within our means?

The housing market took a nosedive within the last year due to Bawney Fwank and his cronies telling banks that they couldn't "red line," a practice of not lending money to those in high-risk neighborhoods. The result was people acquiring loans for houses they couldn't pay back, and massive foreclosures ensued. Of course, the blame was cast entirely on to the previous administration.

Cap and Trade was front and center for a while, but has taken a back seat of late. The ingenious idea of taxing carbon dioxide (plant food) was spawned during the whole "global warming" hysteria, a notion that has since been debunked and proven to be a statistical fraud. Yet the lefties of this country still echo Chicken Little's message of "The sky is falling!" in hopes of keeping their globalist agenda alive.

In the past year, our president has bowed numerous times to world leaders, sending the message that we are weak. Way to go, you moron! Dictators the world over have been given an almost royal treatment. Kim Jong Il received a personal letter from BHO asking that North Korea halt their nuclear development program. The result? An underground test fire of a nuke. Hugo Chavez was given a warm reception by BHO, and Hugo reciprocated with the gift of a book from his favorite Communist author. How appropriate.

The rise of terror activity during the past year has given Americans cause to once again worry, but the threat is constantly being downplayed. The shooting at Fort Hood that claimed 14 innocent lives, the foiled Christmas Eve bombing attempt, and other miscellaneous plots that were foiled have emboldened the enemy. Is BHO waiting for another 9/11 to recognize exactly what we are up against? It sure seems that way.

We've seen radical czars appointed within the past year. From Cass Sunstein to Kevin Jennings, the radical left has gained a foothold in the government as never seen before. Van Jones, the former Green Jobs Czar, has been the only one run out of town in disgrace. The rest of them keep pushing their respective agendas on the American people regardless of whether the people agree or not. The czars see this as their only chance to push their ideals into the mainstream, and they're not going to give up until the citizenry rebels.

ACORN, the community group who helped get people to vote more than once in many instances during the presidential election, was busted by a couple of undercover citizens giving advice on how to get government money to pay for a prostitution ring. While federal funding of the group was temporarily suspended, they're once again receiving our tax dollars. The sister group of ACORN, the SEIU, has picked up where ACORN left off in shady dealings with Andy Stern, the group's president, making numerous White House visits.

Lastly, the push for socialized medicine in this country under the benign name of "healthcare reform" has come to fruition. Over half the population doesn't want it, but BHO, Pelosi, Reid, and the rest of the socialists have decided that they know what's best for Americans, and they plan on giving the American people a healthcare-reform colonoscopy. So much for the voice of the people.

With all that has happened in the past year, our only hope is that November brings a Congress that is willing to stand up and voice the opinion of the American people when we say "NO MORE!" Should that not come to pass, our liberties in this country will be on life support. And we all know how this administration would handle that medical emergency.

Wanna Rethink That???

And now, some quotes on terrorism in light of the attempted airline bombing on Christmas Eve. They might want to rethink their positions.... My comments will be in green.

I found a religion that blended scientific reason with spiritual reality in a unifying faith far removed from the headlines of violence, destruction and terrorism. -- Cat Stevens (Oh really?? Seems like every time we turn around your religion is blowing something up!)

The war against terrorism is terrorism. -- Woody Harrelson (No it's not, Woody. It's letting the world know that we won't tolerate the killing of innocent people by these bastards.)

Fighting a war on terrorism is like fighting against crime. We can never hope to eradicate crime, so we shouldn't bother fighting it. -- Craig Bruce (So, what? No laws? You are a mushhead, Mr. Bruce)

If you are talking about terrorism, you need to sit down and understand what is making these people put dynamite around their waists and blow themselves up. -- Lakhdar Brahimi (We understand. These nuts hate western civilization and wish to take the world back to the Stone Age.)

An escalating, violent tit-for-tat may lead to terrorism. -- Mary Douglas (Not if we wipe them out first, chickie.)

Let me be very clear: We monitor the risks of violent extremism taking root here in the United States. We don't have the luxury of focusing our efforts on one group; we must protect the country from terrorism whether foreign or homegrown, and regardless of the ideology that motivates its violence. -- Janet Napolitano (No, you didn't, Jannie. You screwed up royally. Want me to send you the help wanted ads?)

I do not believe in terrorism, violence, destruction, murder, pre-emption, or War. -- Roseanne Cash (I do not condone murder, senseless violence, or senseless destruction. Your mentality is part of the reason the jihadists have become so emboldened.)

Clinton was very early on aware of the problem of international terrorism. -- Sidney Blumenthal (Then why didn't he get Osama Bin Laden when he had the chance, Sid? He may have been aware, but his failure to act was a precursor to 9/11. I hope that bothers him until the day he dies.)

I admire President Chavez for his strength to resist the United States. Instead, Bush is waging a war of terrorism against the world. -- Cindy Sheehan (You have disgraced your brave son's memory, Cindy. Move to frickin' Venezuela if you love Chavez so much. Maybe Obama will greet your plane when you land.)

Terrorism is in good part an effective government propaganda; it serves to deflect attention from governmental abuse toward a mostly imagined, highly dangerous outside enemy. -- Mark Poster (Tell all the victims of terrorism the enemy is imagined. They'll beg to differ, you twit.)

9/11 -- Some of My Favorites

Today, on the eighth anniversary of the day that this country was brought face-to-face with true evil, I'd like to share some of my favorite things to come out of the aftermath. Pictures, words, and songs that continue to bring tears to my eyes and a prayer to my mind are what I'm posting here. May we all continue to remember those innocent people who lost their lives that day and also remember what our country used to be. God Bless you, and God bless this great nation.

Meet Me in the Stairwell

You say you will never forget where you were when you heard the news, September 11, 2001. Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called his wife to say “good-bye”. I held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the peace to say, “Honey, I am not going to make it, but it is OK... I am ready to go”. I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to their children.

I held her up as she tried to understand his words and as she realized that he wasn’t coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell on the 23rd floor when a woman cried out to me for help. “I have been knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!” I said. “Of course I will show you the way home - only believe in Me now.”

I was at the base of the building with the Priest ministering to the injured and devastated souls. I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat, with every prayer. I was with the crew as they were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the believers there. Comforting and assuring them that their Faith has saved them.

I was in Texas, Kansas, London. I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news. Did you sense me? I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew every name - though NOT ALL know me. Some met me for the first time on the 86th floor. Some sought with their last breath. Some couldn’t hear me calling to them through the smoke and flames. “Come to me... This way.... Take my hand.”

Some chose, for the final time, to ignore me. But I WAS THERE.

I did not place you in the TOWERS that day. You may not know why, but I do. However, if you were there in that explosive moment in time, would you have reached for me?

September 11, 2001 was not the end of the journey for you. But someday your journey will end. And I will be there for you as well. Seek me now while I may be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are “ready to go”.

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments. Remember, I love you.

This song was written by The Clarks the day after 9/11 and was put on their CD "Another Happy Ending." The guys were working on the CD when 9/11 happened. It was their way of expressing their feelings in the aftermath of that fateful day.

Obama Gives Enemy Combatants Constitutional Rights

Breaking news from all over the news services is that Dear Leader has ordered the FBI and CIA to Mirandize terrorists overseas before interrogation. Way to go Chucklehead-in-Chief! Let's make sure that these evildoers invoke their "right to remain silent" so we don't gather intelligence. Is is me or is this lunacy?

There is one word for this course of action Der Fuehrer has chosen to take: TREASON. Let me quote the sacred U.S. Constitution:

"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." -- Article III, Section 3

In addition to aid and comfort, I'm going to add culturally appropriate meals in the tropical paradise of Club Gitmo. These terrorists are NOT U.S. citizens and NOT entitled to the protection given by the Constitution. The Geneva Convention doesn't even apply to terrorists. The Geneva Convention is for protection of uniformed military serving a country who has signed on to the treaty. And wearing the same Martha Stewart knockoff towels on their heads does not constitute a uniform. Does Obama think that Hamas and Al Qaeda give a rat's behind about the Geneva Convention?

This makes me very afraid for our children and their future. Please pray for this country, that we may stand for the principles the founding fathers set forth.

The Flight 93 Memorial; Land May Be Taken

The government seems poised to grab the land for the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. While I feel that gouging the price for the land is a terrible act in and of itself (I would just donate the land to honor the heroes of that flight.), I have a very hard time justifying the use of government force to just take that sacred ground.

The National Parks Service, which falls under the Department of the Interior, wants to see the first phase completed by September 10, 2011, just in time for the 10th anniversary of that fateful day.

Shanksville represents our first victory in the war on terror. No fancy weapons, no well-thought-out plan. Just a group of heroes with love for their country and her people. They enlisted without any fanfare or expectation of medals; they knew their fate. They were determined not to let evil win.

The plans for the memorial have been very controversial. To view plans for the Flight 93 Memorial, go to www.nps.gov and follow the links to the Flight 93 Memorial. Part of the plans include a crescent (symbol of Islam) of red maples and a 93-foot "Tower of Voices" (I would suggest maybe similar to a prayer tower). I've also read and heard that a plaque honoring the flight will be part of the memorial, and, when one stands to read it, they will be facing Mecca. There is a book available called "Crescent of Betrayal" (I forget the author) that details just how subtle Islamic symbols are being integrated into the memorial.

If the design and what it represents is the sole reason for not wanting to part with the land, I back the landowners completely. The present design would be a slap in the face of the families, and the memory of their loved ones and what they gave would forever be skewed. Should the issue be "Let's see how much money we can get for this land", I'm very mixed. Shame on you if that is your reasoning. On the other hand, government has no business using eminent domain. It's a problem inside a dilemma wrapped in an enigma.

We will never forget. "Let's Roll"

Hamas!!! Come On Down!!!

The OPP (Obama's Personal Penance) Tour is in full swing. Now he has called for Hamas to join in Middle Eastern peace talks. HAMAS???? Hamas = How A Muslim Accepts Suicide. Don't believe me? Ask any countless number of people who have survived attacks from these nuts.

The way Obama has been schmoozing these clowns is un-freakin'-believable. He feels the need to apologize to the Muslim world on behalf of America. FOR WHAT??? We have never preemptively hit a Muslim nation. Ok...some may say "What about Iraq?" I guess the argument could be made. But let's look at how the war has changed things.

  1. We have not been hit since September 11, 2001. We made an example of what happens to terrorists. Don't think that they aren't second-guessing carrying out another 9/11. They are. Unfortunately, Obama has shown what happens to terrorists: you get culturally appropriate meals and have your every whim catered to while you soak up the sun at Club Gitmo.
  2. Ask the thousands of Iraqis who had purple fingers at election time how they feel about what happened. The rape rooms, acid baths, and plastic chippers Saddam Hussein used were no longer a fear. Athletes didn't have to fear being killed for losing at the Olympics. A very evil and very brutal man was brought down and is hopefully burning in Hell as I type this.
  3. The leftist agenda in this country was exposed. Those of us on the right united behind our troops (as we continue to do) as the left sought to tear us apart. Members of Congress called our brave men and women "murderers" (JOHN MURTHA YOU TWIT!). Recruitment stations were vandalized, and most recently, recruiters shot with one killed. Still, we on the right believe in the cause. We are not imposing our nation's values on other countries; we are allowing other countries to determine their own destiny under freedom.

Hamas has no place at the table when it comes to Middle Eastern peace talks. They would sit there and say "Oh yes! We want peace!", but their past actions have proven they don't. You cannot negotiate and talk with dictators and terrorists.

Ask Saddam Hussein what finally worked on him.
