'Safe Schools Czar' Kevin Jennings: Soros Puppet

By now, we know exactly what 'Safe Schools Czar' Kevin Jennings wants in the curricula of schools across the country. You don't write the forward to a book titled Queering Elementary Education without an agenda. But did we hear one peep about Jennings being tied to everyone's favorite globalist George Soros? Yep. You read that right.

Jennings founded the Gay and Lesbian Independent School Teachers Network (GLSTN) back in 1990 as a means to unite gay teachers across the country and bringing awareness to the plight of gay students. As chapters opened nationwide, GLSTN officially became a national organization in 1995. In 1997, GLSTN held its first national conference in Salt Lake City [A slam at the Mormons, in my opinion.] and, later in the year, changed its name to the Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). Since then, GLSEN has lobbied to have homosexual curricula in our schools and "understanding" of GLBT students to prevent bullying. Their mission statement as posted on their site:

The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network strives to assure that each member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

We believe that such an atmosphere engenders a positive sense of self, which is the basis of educational achievement and personal growth. Since homophobia and heterosexism undermine a healthy school climate, we work to educate teachers, students and the public at large about the damaging effects these forces have on youth and adults alike. We recognize that forces such as racism and sexism have similarly adverse impacts on communities and we support schools in seeking to redress all such inequities.

GLSEN seeks to develop school climates where difference is valued for the positive contribution it makes in creating a more vibrant and diverse community. We welcome as members any and all individuals, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity/expression or occupation, who are committed to seeing this philosophy realized in K-12 schools. [emphasis mine]

Is teaching mutual respect of other people in a school setting really the job of the government? Hell no. That's MY job as a parent.

The following is a list of sponsors as posted on GLSEN's website. These groups are responsible for giving donations of at least $75,000 each.

The next time you buy a Pepsi product, remember that you're helping fund the group founded by Kevin Jennings, who had no problem with a seminar on "fisting" being held for teens during a GLSEN conference.

How does this all tie to George Soros? Lemme 'splain.

Back in June, when Kevin Jennings was still under the radar, GLSEN entered into the New Beginning Initiative with a national collaboration of organizations to push for "concrete federal administration policy and regulatory changes directly benefiting the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people and eliminating discrimination from federal policies." Regulatory changes directly benefiting the lives of LGBT people. What about benefiting everyone??? Seems kinda discriminatory if you ask me.

The initiative is based on the recommendations that focus "on pro-LGBT public policy changes the Obama administration can implement without legislative action." In other words, how to get around that pesky Constitutional provision that gives Congress the power to make law. And how can that be done? Appoint a 'czar.' As in maybe a 'Safe Schools Czar.' Yeah...that's the ticket.

Here's the story so far: Kevin Jennings founds GLSEN. GLSEN, funded by some pretty heavily-funded corporations, enters into the New Beginning Initiative to push for federal policy on gay rights without having to go through Congress. Jennings is given the job that does just that.

Now, it gets interesting.

The New Beginning Initiative was funded by the Open Society Institute. OSI is an organization funded directly by none other than billionaire nutjob and global socialist George Soros.

Some of the policies being proposed by the Soros-funded initiative:
  • Passage of the Safe Schools Improvement Act to create a federal anti-bullying policy with enumerated categories such as race, religion, gender, sexual orientation and gender identity.
  • Amending the nondiscrimination guidelines for the federal civilian workforce to include gender identity and expression.
  • Including sexual orientation and gender identity categories as a designated and mandated component of federally funded aging research and data collection.
  • Ensuring LGBT people are recognized as a population marked by health disparities for appropriate inclusion in federally funded studies.
  • Requiring the office of Housing and Urban Development to recognize unaccompanied homeless youth as a special-needs population requiring the development of targeted youth housing models.
  • Encouraging U.S. diplomatic engagement on international LGBT issues as legitimate human rights concerns.
  • How ironic. They want protection from bullying, but the radical gay movement will disrupt a Mass and desecrate the Eucharist and throw condoms from the pews. Lovely. Bunch of frickin' hypocrites. And recognizing runaways as "special needs" kids? Give me a break!

So there it is. George Soros has helped fund the group whose founder is advising the White House on educational policy.

Hold on to your kids for dear life. They belong to YOU, not George Soros.

'Safe Schools Czar' Gushes Over NAMBLA-Supporting Pedophile

Recently, I did a post about Kevin Jennings, the Obama administration's 'Safe Schools Czar.' The former teacher and gay activist has shown his true colors over the years by not revealing the fact that a 15-year-old student of his was having sex with older men and by pushing for schools to implement a curriculum that teaches tolerance and acceptance of gays.

Now, according to World Net Daily, it has come to light that Jennings has had nothing but praise for NAMBLA founder Harry Hay who passed away in 2002.

In a 1997 speech, Jennings is quoted as saying, "One of the people that's always inspired me is Harry Hay, who started the first ongoing gay rights groups in America. In 1948, he tried to get people to join the Mattachine Society. It took him two years to find one other person who would join."

"Well, [in] 1993," Jennings continued, "Harry Hay marched with a million people in Washington, who thought he had a good idea 40 years before."

Hay started the Mattachine Society in 1948 to advocate for homosexual rights and later founded the Radical Faeries to continue his work. Harry Hay was also a long-time supporter of NAMBLA, the North American Man Boy Love Association, a group that endorses sexual relations between adult men and young boys. Hay advocated for the removal of all age-of-consent laws in this country to allow young men to be preyed upon by older men.

In a 1983 speech to NAMBLA, Hay said "I also would like to say at this point that it seems to me that in the gay community the people who should be running interference for NAMBLA are the parents and friends of gays. Because if the parents and friends of gays are truly friends of gays, they would know from their gay kids that the relationship with an older man is precisely what thirteen-, fourteen-, and fifteen-year-old kids need more than anything else in the world. And they would be welcoming this, and welcoming the opportunity for young gay kids to have the kind of experience that they would need."

This is the same man our 'Safe Schools Czar' "admires".

Jennings gave a speech in 1995 outlining his intention to manipulate the English language to get what he wanted when promoting the gay agenda in schools. Instead of approaching the subject directly, the current 'Safe Schools Czar' decided to approach it from a "safety" angle.

"If the radical right can succeed in portraying us as preying on children, we will lose. Their language – 'promoting homosexuality' is one example – is laced with subtle and not-so-subtle innuendo that we are 'after their kids.'

In Massachusetts the effective reframing of this issue was the key to the success of the Governor's Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth. We immediately seized upon the opponent's calling card – safety – and explained how homophobia represents a threat to students' safety by creating a climate where violence, name-calling, health problems, and suicide are common. Titling our report 'Making Schools Safe for Gay and Lesbian Youth,' we automatically threw our opponents onto the defensive and stole their best line of attack. This framing short-circuited their arguments and left them back-pedaling from day one."

What happens behind closed doors between two consenting adults is none of my business, but where do the gay activists feel it is their place to teach our kids about homosexuality? Last time I looked, it was still the job of the parents to do so if they choose.

Mr. Jennings should be getting the Van Jones treatment for radical lunacy. Instead, I have yet to hear one peep from even Fox News. Now if this had been a pastor pushing for prayer in public school, the left would never let it go until he was exiled to the far reaches of Antarctica.

Education decisions belong in the hands of parents, not NAMBLA.

UPDATE: October 6, 2009 -- Thanks to my BOF (best online friend) Bunni for the link to this. Jennings actually criticizes schools for promoting heterosexuality. Perish the thought!!!

Illegal Public Education Ends in Texas

Kelt Cooper, the new superintendent of the Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District, is doing what someone should've done a long time ago. He has basically put the brakes on the gravy train that allowed approximately 500 or more children living in Mexico to receive a public education courtesy of the U.S. taxpayers. About damned time!

District staff members have been sent to the border crossing at Cuidad Acuna to tell parents that they either provide proof of residency or their children will be expelled. Most of the time, Mexican residents provide a false U.S. address to enroll their kids in the school district, and the little cherubs get to school either by using a walking bridge to cross the border or parents drive them to school here in the U.S. Why the hell do we have bridges allowing people to walk across the border to begin with? I say it's time to bring them down in order to make room for that double fence with surplus land mines in between. THAT'S homeland security!

“I’ve seen van loads of kids with plates from Coahuila State (Mexico) pulling in front of the school,” Del Rio Superintendent Kelt Cooper told a major news organization. “Everyone knows what is going on. It’s real blatant." I also offer that it's a slap in the face to every American taxpayer who is sick of having their tax money squandered on those who do not contribute to the system but expect others to pick up the tab.

Mr. Cooper is a former school superintendent for the city Nogales, Arizona, one of the busiest border crossings in the state. He once uncovered the fact that dozens of students within that school district had all used the same vacant lot address to enroll in school and drain U.S. taxpayer resources.

While stopping a little over 500 illegals seems about as effective as peeing over Niagara Falls hoping to make a difference, it is a start. The proposed move by Mr. Cooper would save the taxpayers approximately $3 million annually. That ain't chump change!

The average cost to the American taxpayers to provide education to those who should not be getting it is approximately $12 BILLION a year, with (no surprise) California and Texas forking out the most with spending of $7.7 billion and $3.9 billion respectively. Estimates are that there are approximately 1.5 million school-aged illegal immigrants across the country receiving a public education. Why the hell isn't more being done to stop this??? Oops...I forgot. BHO, Senora Justice Sotomayor, La Raza, and the compassionate left think there's nothing wrong with it. We greedy Americans need to show the rest of the world that we care, right?

I have no problem with parents wanting a better education for their children, but DO IT LEGALLY!!! Come to this country, go through the naturalization process, and pay your frickin' taxes like the rest of us. Quit whining about how oppressed you are and respect the laws of this country if you want your children to reap the benefits of their dreams in order to have a better life.

I look for La Raza and the ACLU (Atheist Communist Liberal Uprising) to take this to court on the grounds that civil rights to education are being denied. CIVIL RIGHTS APPLY TO AMERICAN CITIZENS, YOU DOPES! Unfortunately, Obamarx may make this all a moot point by giving amnesty to illegals in order to get them healthcare.

Let's call this movement exactly what it is: a non-military invasion. And the left is guilty of treason by aiding and abetting it.

Pray for this country like you've never done before.

    Reagan on Education

If you believe your local school district is better qualified to run your schools than is the federal government you’d better get ready to do battle. … [The proposed education department would] create a bureaucracy of gigantic size to oversee thousands and thousands of public schools now administered by local school districts. -- Ronald Reagan, April 16, 1979, in a radio address made before the formation of the Department of Education.

    **********************************************************************************

Personally, I believe in academic freedom but oppose limiting it to any one segment of academe. The teacher who interprets it as covering only the teacher’s right to teach is ignoring the student’s academic freedom and the right of parents to have some say as to what their children are learning. Then there is the academic freedom of those who finance the whole operation and have some beliefs about the kind of schooling they wish to make available with their contributions — all these are entitled to some share of academic freedom (letter to the editor of PEGASUS, Eureka, Illinois, March 31, 1971). -- Ronald Reagan in a letter to the editor of his alma mater's newspaper.

    Update on Tuesday

I visited my son's high school today and asked if BHO's speech was going to be broadcast on Tuesday. The secretary in the office said she had no idea what I was talking about. Does she live under a rock?

The district administration building is next door to the school, so I strolled on over to speak to someone there. Again, I got the same answer from the office decoration behind the desk. While waiting for someone to finish a meeting to answer my question, the superintendent walked in. It was at that moment I decided to get answers from someone whose paycheck partially depends on me.

I asked him the same question. He told me that the district will NOT be broadcasting the speech on Tuesday because it was going to be too hard to get all the kids in classrooms at the same time. The district will, however, be taping it to allow teachers to use the speech as part of the lesson plan should they decide to do so. I proceeded to ask if there was an opt out clause for parents to take advantage of. He told me that, if it's being used as part of a lesson, there is no opt out option.

When asked if there would be advance parental notification, he said that the teacher may inform parents if they think there is objectionable material, but they are not required to do so. I said, "You mean like when they show 'An Inconvenient Truth'?" The color drained from his face.

The next step for me is to email the teachers to demand notification should they choose to use this crap in class. My kids will take a zero before I allow them to be indoctrinated.

    My Thoughts on Indoctrination

First, I apologize for being scarce today. My internet was down (systemwide problem) and they just now got it up and running. Think they'll pro-rate my monthly bill? No way. Bastards.

This Tuesday, BHO is planning on addressing the Obama Youth of this nation. I put a call in to my daughter's elementary school and was told that they'll have it on tape and leave it up to the teachers whether they want to use it as a social studies lesson. Advance notice will be given (or so I was told) to the parents and there will be an opt out clause. Do I believe this? Only in the same breath that I believe BHO is a better president than Reagan.

While I am no stranger to any of the teachers in her school, I don't trust that my wishes would be followed should I choose to opt out. Zee teacherz vill only be following orderz. Right now, I am of the mindset that if and when this happens, my kids are staying home.

Bungalow Bill has a great post to give parents another perspective on the "stay home" issue. My opinion? If they're going to collect names and gather an enemies' list, it'll be without the indoctrination of my kids.

As for Noah, who attends the local senior high, I plan on going to the office tomorrow before grocery shopping and finding out exactly what their plans are. I'll keep everyone updated.

It's bad enough when they try to saturate the media with the numerous speeches by BHO (or as I like to call it -- the image of the Beast), but when it comes to my kids, they're screwing with the wrong parent.

    A Message for Students

I just wanted to wish students across this great land a very happy and safe school year. Remember a few things:

    1. Despite what you may think, yes, we parents look forward to this time of year. We love you, but this is when OUR vacation begins!
    2. Don't be afraid to disagree (RESPECTFULLY) with those who want you to be good little brownshirts. We, as loving parents, will back you. Don't sell out your principles.
    3. When eating in the cafeteria, follow the "golden rule" of cafeteria food: If you can't identify it, don't eat it. Icky things are usually covered in gravy.
    4. Make friends with as many geeks as possible. They may be signing your paycheck one day.
    5. Self-esteem follows success, not the other way around. Strive for the top.
    6. Have a great year!

The Public School System: Then and Now

Education. It's arguably the best gift a child can receive. I'm not talking about the touchy-feely indoctrination kids today get. I'm talking about teaching them the basic skills they'll need to thrive in this world. Over the years, the public school system has become a failed social experiment. Children today are being presented with a liberal education with the emphasis on social issues over basic knowledge of how to read, write, and do math.

Some teachers have had their hands tied and been denied the freedom to teach. Curricula that have given us, in some areas, a student graduation rate of 25% or less seem to have become standard.

Today's teachers are a mixed bag. There are those who are truly passionate about giving kids an education that will allow them to succeed in today's world, and then those who are so wrapped up in just getting them through to the next grade with minimal skills. Unfortunately, the latter seems to be the majority.

In New York City, there are teachers being paid full salary and benefits to do anything they want. Play games, write a book, paint.....the list goes on. These teachers are awaiting disciplinary hearings for offenses ranging from insubordination to sexual misconduct, and they sometimes wait years. All the while, the citizens of New York City are paying them the same as those teachers who spend all day in the classroom.

Years ago, things were different. Trouble students were expelled, not just tolerated until they could be passed off to another teacher to become their problem. Teachers had a say in how a child was disciplined, and parents often relied on teachers to learn of potential problems that may be on the horizon. Not today. The educational world has become inverted.

The following is a taste of what used to be. It's a graduation test from Saline County, Kansas, dated 1895. The students had to pass this test to move on to the eighth grade. At the end, you will note a list of duties and requirements teachers had to abide by. My how times have changed.

    *********************************************
Now, I will be the first to say that I'd still be in seventh grade. Even though I've been out of school for a quarter of a century, there is still a stark contrast between the education I received and what was taught when my great-grandparents were children. Today's kids would be lucky if they could read the test.

And could you imagine the teachers' union tolerating rules that actually held teachers accountable? Oh, the horror of it all! The NEA would never allow it.

While I'm not saying we need to get back to this era of education, I DO believe that parents today should be given the choice of whether or not they send their most precious gifts from God to a school where social indoctrination abounds and education has become secondary.

How did YOU perform on this test?

    Islam Honored on September 11?

A sequential look at United Flight 175 crashin...Image via Wikipedia

According to worldnetdaily.com, the New York City Council passed a resolution on Tuesday that recommends the school district shut down on two important Muslim holidays. What they failed to say is that in some years, those holidays could fall on September 11. The resolution itself is non-binding and at odds with Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The holidays, Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr, commemorate the Muslim belief of Abraham sacrificing his son, Ishmail (not Isaac as Christians and Jews believe), and the ending of Ramadan, the Islamic fasting period.

Islamic holidays are set based on the lunar calendar, meaning the dates corresponding to the Gregorian calendar change each year. Eid al-Adha falls on Sept. 11 in the year 2016, according to the accepted Umm al-Qura calendar.

Eid al-Fitr, meanwhile, will begin at sunset Sept. 9 and continue to sunset Sept. 10 next year. The dates, though, depend on the official citing of the new crescent moon as certified by the Saudi "hilal committee," which at times has shifted holidays by one or two days, meaning Eid-al-Fitr could technically also be celebrated on Sept. 11 in 2010.

What a slap in the face to (a) the American people (b) the families who lost loved ones on that fateful day, and (c) our brave men and women fighting against those who helped perpetrate the worst terrorist attack this country has ever seen. The New York City Council should hang their heads in shame.

The rationale of the Council, who passed this with blessings from CAIR (Council of American-Islamic Relations), is that Muslims are approximately 12 percent of the student population and deserve to be recognized in the same regard that Christian and Jewish holidays are recognized during the school year. If this is allowed to stand, you will have every "religion" wanting their days off. Pagans and Wiccans will want Earth Day off. Satanists will be wanting days off for sacrifices. It's a mighty slippery slope.

"If you close the schools for every single holiday, there won't be any school," Bloomberg said. "Educating our kids requires time in the classroom, and that's the most important thing to us."

We are told we have to be tolerant. At what point does tolerance become surrender? We already have foot-washing basins in airports (paid for with our money), Muslim children can display their religious symbols in school without being kicked out, and the Flight 93 Memorial design is chock full of Islamic symbols. Don't believe me? Go the Department of Interior website and see the design for yourself. It'll make you sick.

This country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, not Muslim traditions. It's time we get back to them and quit being so politically correct. It's the death of a thousand slices for freedom if this resolution goes into effect.

A coalition opposing the expansion of the radical Islamic Saudi Academy in Fairfax County, Va., has filed a conflict-of-interest complaint with the Virginia state attorney general over the county government's role in distributing invitations to an Islamic dinner.

Invitations to the free dinner – which is billed as, "Understanding Islam Conference: A Symposium to Promote Peace, Harmony, Understanding and Cultural Diversity" – were distributed by e-mail to county residents by Fairfax County official Sandra S. Chisholm, community interfaith liaison for the Department of Systems Management for Human Services.

Local citizens trying to block the expansion of the Saudi academy, which they say is a "breeding ground" for terrorists, complain that the conference reveals the county's bias in the fight.

The county planning board already has approved the expansion plans for the school, which is controlled and funded by the Saudi Embassy. And the country board of supervisors is expected to uphold the ruling.

"The Fairfax County government no longer pretends to be fair and impartial in its dealings with residents who oppose the railroading of the ISA expansion through its offices," said James Lafferty, chairman of the Virginia Anti-Shariah Task Force, or VAST. "This is an outrageous effort to stack the deck against the protesting county residents just weeks before the vote on the massive ISA expansion."

The vote is scheduled for July 13.

He says the county-sponsored Islamic dinner also raises constitutional questions about "separation of church and state."

"No church or synagogue ever got such preferential treatment from the county government," Lafferty argued.

In its letter to state officials in Richmond, VAST charges that the Fairfax County government became a partner in an event which was designed to "gloss over community concerns generated by the many problems and questionable activities associated with the radical 'academy.'"

VAST asks for a full investigation of the county's role in promoting "a very sectarian pep rally for Islam."

"We believe the county government is no longer impartial in carrying out its duties. And some citizens, depending on their religious affiliation, can expect a more favorable outcome from the county's regulatory agencies at the expense of the public trust," the letter says. "We believe this questionable action and others related to the county government's treatment of the Islamic Saudi Academy suggest the strong possibility of systemic corruption in Fairfax County's government."

At the recent planning board hearing, some 600 Muslims turned out to rally behind the Saudi academy and drown out VAST protesters. A Muslim engineer employed by the county testified on behalf of the academy.

The Saudi school's alumni include Omar Abu Ali, an al-Qaida operative convicted of plotting to assassinate President Bush. Ali graduated valedictorian, and the school proudly published another superlative for him in its yearbook: "Voted Most Likely to be a Martyr," a caption under his photo read.

A couple of other academy graduates were arrested in Israel for plotting terrorism.

What's more, the U.S. government has cited the school for using textbooks promoting hate and violence against Jews and Christians. Dawood Abdulrahman, head of the Islamic Studies Department at the academy, maintains that the school recently revised it textbooks to show more tolerance, including removing all references to "jihad."

Abdularahman is an executive board member of Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center, the radical Fairfax County mosque that assisted at least two of the Saudi hijackers before they slammed a plane into the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001. The phone number for the mosque was found in the address book of one of the senior al-Qaida planners of the attacks, who was in Germany at the time.

The hijackers stayed in an apartment complex just across a highway from the Alexandria, Va., campus of the Saudi academy.

The academy's former comptroller, Ismail Elbarasse, was arrested after 9/11 for allegedly casing the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Maryland for a possible terrorist attack. Elbarasse is a founding member of the Dar al-Hijrah mosque.

The ACLU won't hesitate to start screaming like a girl when a student wants to say grace at lunch. Pretty silent over this, eh? What a bunch of frickin' hypocrites!!!

    Make $70,000 + a Year Doing Nothing!!!

    Waiting to Begin

Want to know the secret to making $70,000 or more a year for doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING? Get your teaching license and get hired by the New York City School District. This is like the Job Bank program the UAW already has in place. Union contracts have stipulations saying that a teacher must be kept on the dole while awaiting disciplinary actions, no matter what. Here's what's going on.

700 teachers within the NYC school system are currently receiving full salary and benefits for playing Scrabble, surfing the net, sleeping, or just staring at the wall; whatever they want to do. They have been accused of offenses from insubordination to sexual misconduct, and they sit in what are called the "rubber rooms" of the school district while they wait for disciplinary hearings. That can sometimes take years.

"You just basically sit there for eight hours," said Orlando Ramos, who spent seven months in a rubber room, officially known as a temporary reassignment center, in 2004-05. "I saw several near-fights. `This is my seat.' `I've been sitting here for six months.' That sort of thing."

Isn't this great?? While the economy is going belly up largely in part due to socialist experiments and policies, these teachers can get their graduate degrees, write novels, or plan vacations and get paid for it by the taxpayers. Did I mention that they still get the summers and weekends off? Yep. Gotta love that teachers' union!!!

I am not slamming the teachers. They have gone into a career that I know I couldn't do, and a lot of them work in real war zones. It's the union I'm slamming.

Let's take a hypothetical situation. A group of conservative bloggers, led by a blackandgoldfan and her trusty sidekicks, get together and decide they want Obama to back off from restriction of free speech. Said group goes to Dear Leader and says, "You give us what we want, or we're going to post your REAL birth certificate!" That group would be jailed for extortion, wouldn't they? Well, the unions of this country are no different. Give them what they want, and they'll go away. Tell them to screw off, and they'll get you and your little dog, too.

It's time that unions get a history lesson. Most notably, the history lesson of Dutch the Great and the Air Traffic Controllers.
