Alert!! 'Armed Mob' Will be Buzzword Tonight
As I type this, I'm sitting in front of my t.v. with my laptop watching the coverage about Obama's upcoming town hall meeting in New Hampshire. What I've seen on PMSNBC is what prompted me to run for the laptop.
The camera panned crowds on both sides of the debate near the high school where BHO is set to speak in about an hour. In the anti-healtcare crowd, the camera picked up a fellow freedom fighter holding a sign that read "It's time to water the tree of liberty." Strapped to his thigh, in plain view, was his pistol.
Carlos Watson of PMSNBC went nuclear. "How can this man do this?" he asked the field reporter covering the event on a live feed.
"Evidently, the law here says that since he isn't concealing it, he can carry it. The gun is registered to the man, and he is on private property [The man was on a church's property and had permission to be there from the church.], so the law says he can do this." The field reporter must not have heard about THE SECOND AMENDMENT.
Ol' Carlos was just in total disbelief. He still wonders why he is allowed to remain there and why the Secret Service isn't asking him to leave. HEY CARLOS!!! THE RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED!!!
Of course, following right on the heels of this, Carlos has a couple of Obama supporters in the studio to ask why the Secret Service hasn't swept the area. The two mushheads speculated that the man would most likely be escorted away from the area for security reasons. "Why can't they make him leave now?" the broad on the panel asked. BECAUSE HE'S NOT VIOLATING ANY LAWS, YOU TWIT!!!
I'm betting that tonight's news headlines will read "President Met With Armed Mob."
Go ahead; make my day!

I really hope Obama gets an earful, but you and I know this is scripted theater.
As always top notch posting. The new "code word" this week is -- SOCIALISM , right wing meaning -- the "N" word. Wow the left is really showing their intelligence. Great job and keep up the fight. Sharky
Clay: Even if he was given an earful, the MSM wouldn't cover it.
LandShark: Thanks! I'll fight to my dying breath!
Although the man wasn't violating any laws, do people think it's a good idea to bring weapons to these town hall meetings? The health care debate is already heated. Adding weapons to the mix is just asking for trouble.
Also, I hear the term MSM (mainstream media) used a lot in regard to what stories will/won't be covered. I was wondering what's your definition of MSM?
PMSNBC? Did you get that from good ole' Rush Limbaugh? :-)
Malcolm: Whether it was a good idea or not, the man had every right to carry his weapon. Maybe he felt that things could get REALLY ugly in light of recent town hall meetings and wanted to be prepared for anything.
To me, the MSM are those who decide that instead of presenting both sides of an issue, they tout the official propaganda coming from the top. Fox News does give opportunities to both sides, but most of the others just trot out the spin doctors with no shame for a double standard.
And yes, I did get that from MahaRushie! It fits.
Whoo hoo! I've gone from being an Army of One to being a Mob of One!
Just to be clear, I'm fully aware that the man had a right to have his pistol. I just don't see how him having a gun would have made things better had an ugly situation arose.
Malcolm: Let's look at a possible scenario.
The man is standing on church property peacefully protesting. Enter the bused in union thugs who take offense at his sign or his comments. Heated words are exchanged and push comes to shove. Let's face facts: union thugs don't have a great history of peaceful tactics. When a group of thugs descend on the man and start beating him mercilessly, he is able to defend himself.
Think of it this way. Had the black protester beaten by union thugs in an earlier town hall meeting had a pistol legally strapped to his thigh, just the sight of the firearm would more than likely deterred any physical assault.
Was it a stupid thing to do? Maybe; depends upon who you ask. But for MSNBC to make a blatant example of a peaceful, law-abiding protester with a gun was, in my opinion, unnecessary.
Malcolm: The idea is that he doesnt NEED a reason to carry his gun. Just like we don't need a reason to wear a wristwatch.
Secondly MSM is any media that conforms to the party line as put forth by the whitehouse talking points every morning during the conference call. They admit it happens.
I actually prefer Drive-By media. Just like a drive by shooter, that is what most of the info babes and info dudes ply their trade.
PMSNBC, Communist News Network, the All Barack Channel, Chairman Barack Speaking, The NY Slimes, you get the idea. And Oh yeah, before you think you are all witty, I have also heard the Faux Noise Network. Laugh it up, their ratings kill all the others.
Black and Gold Fan: We'll just have to agree to disagree because as you probably know, I could easily paint a scenario in which something terrible happens because the man was carrying his gun. Even though you and I disagree, I do appreciate that you've been respectful in your replies.
Kook: Although my questions/comments were directed at Black and Gold Fan and she already responded, I appreciate you providing your takes. By your definition, whether or not a media outlet was the MSM would depend on who was in The White House. Based on that, I think it would be hard to argue that Fox wasn't a member of the MSM during the George W. Bush era.
I do find it funny when people brag about how Fox trumps everyone in the ratings. Because I think it's important to get opposing viewpoints, I watch Fox regularly. However, I view Fox in a mostly negative light. For all we know, they have countless other viewers who feel as I do. Besides, high ratings doesn't necessarily equal quality. Anyone who follows the Nielsen ratings knows this to be true.
Malcolm: I respect your opinions, though we may differ in ideology. I'm sure that somewhere there are issues that we are not so far apart on. Thanks for stopping!
