I just wanted to wish students across this great land a very happy and safe school year. Remember a few things:
- Despite what you may think, yes, we parents look forward to this time of year. We love you, but this is when OUR vacation begins!
- Don't be afraid to disagree (RESPECTFULLY) with those who want you to be good little brownshirts. We, as loving parents, will back you. Don't sell out your principles.
- When eating in the cafeteria, follow the "golden rule" of cafeteria food: If you can't identify it, don't eat it. Icky things are usually covered in gravy.
- Make friends with as many geeks as possible. They may be signing your paycheck one day.
- Self-esteem follows success, not the other way around. Strive for the top.
- Have a great year!

Great points. School was different when I was a kid, even in the 80's. The country has changed, not for the better either. BTW too, check out the anonymous troll over at LCR that thinks that the Czar situation is just hunkey-dorey. Really!
LCR: It's sad that things have changed so much and our schools don't teach anymore; they indoctrinate.
I'll be right over for troll extermination!
We at KOOK's manifesto are asking our fellow bloggers whether you have been to our blog or not to give us ideas for our protest signage that we will be using in DC. We are making the trip and trying to represent our bloggers as well. We ask as the organizers have that the ideas be as close to 5 words as possible to make them TV friendly. Other than that we don't want personal attacks against one person but real ideas on real issues that matter to all of us. Many of you are familiar with one or both of us, some aren't. All are invited to throw your idea in the ring and maybe it will be on a sign in the DC protest on 9/12.
Students are invited too.
Great message.
Here's something with which to wash down the gravy-covered mystery meat.
