What Males Won't Do For Love....

Throughout history, some pretty wild and wacky stuff has been done in the name of love. This may just top it all.

Rutting season is upon us. For those of you who don't hunt, rutting season is the time of year when bucks have one thing on their minds: doe. Anyone who has driven along any northern interstate will tell you that the number of big red spots on the asphalt increases at this time of year as bucks go in search of amour.

In Wisconsin, a man woke up to find the elk statue in his yard had become the target of a buck fighting for his territory and protecting his harem. The 640-pound concrete statue was evidently mistaken for the real thing by a love-crazed deer. Such love squabbles are usually settled by an antler-to-antler fight. In this case, the elk won when the 7-point, 180-pound buck died of a head injury after ramming the concrete statue.

According to the homeowner, the Vernon County game warden tagged the deer after the incident with a note that read: lawn ornament fight -- lost.

Who says that love can't be funny sometimes?

Ever seen the vid of the moron in Virginia that poured a whole bottle of deer scent on himself in rutting season for deer? His wife stood there and recorded him getting mauled by a horny male deer in his backyard. He was screaming for help and she just stood there on the porch filming.

Andrew: I remember that video. That was one of those "DUH" moments. He found out just how vicious deer can be.

That deer turned that guy out for real. Now that deer is pimping that guy out in the woods by the salt licks.

I used to get venison in P'Cola often. Good eatin' if its cooked right.

And I know how to cook venison, pal. It's all in seasoning and HOW to cook it. If it's not cooked right, it's tough and dry.

Even though deer jerky sounds great right now!

I'm going to start expecting one of those "adult content" warnings on your blog soon...

That pic is nothing that wouldn't be shown on The Discovery Channel.

I just had a fun time trying to picture that buck ramming the elk statue's head!

They show stuff like this all the time on animal planet. In some parts of the country you will see it happen in your back yard. It's called nature.

And it's not always pretty, Andrew.
