Friday Night Fluff: To John

Yeah, I know. I'm about three days late with this. Sue me.

On December 8, 1980, Mark David Chapman approached John Lennon outside of the Dakota and pretended to ask for an autograph. By the time all was said and done, the world had lost a musical legend.

As the world mourned, Elton John expressed his feelings in song. What came of it is one of my favorite Elton songs ever.

Thank you for posting! (I am not even going to share the comment I was going to leave about the AFC North...I will save it for a later date.) Hope you have a good weekend!

He is still missed.

Have you read The Lennon Prophecy? Did you know the killer (Lennon fans don't like to mention his name) was exorcized at Attica Prison in New York?

This may sound odd but -- in 1977 I was living in Little Rock, Ark. and my cuz was visiting. He being a big Elvis fan, we took of to Graceland. Stood outside the fence hoping to catch a glimpse, never did. A week later, the King was gone.
In 1980, I went to visit the same cuz in NY. Me being brought up on the Beatles, wanted to see the Dakota. We stood outside, hoping to catch a glimpse, never did. A week later, John was gone.

We were talking by phone the other day wondering (being 2 for 2)if we should go to Washington, stand outside the House of Reprazintin, the Senate and the White House gates. You know, to see what we can see. Trifecta, baby.

Sue: Still mourning the loss of a playoff spot. Can't believe we lost to Cleveland of all teams. :-(

BB: By excorcized, I hope you mean that MDC was bent over someone's bunk. That's appropriate for that scumbag.

Putting the book on my reading list.

Soloman: I always get misty-eyed over this song. Good Lord, I must be losing my edge!
