A Few Things to Think About

I just wanted to remind everyone that there are things we cannot forget to do.

First, keep on your senators about voting against cap and trade. The issue hasn't been taken up in the Senate yet, but it is far from over. Healthcare has been the main issue, but PLEASE don't let them sneak this in. A classic tactic from Saul Alinsky is to put so many issues out there that people can't pay attention to all of them at once. Be vigilant and stay informed.

Secondly, please continue to pray for Martha and Abigail and their families as they continue their brave battles. Please add Clay and his family to your prayers that all works out well for them. He's one of our brothers-in-arms and needs our prayer and support.

Thank you so much to all of you. You all mean more to me than you know or that I will ever be able to express.

Keep Praying!

Just an update on "Martha" and "Abigail"

"Martha" is starting her new course of chemo. With a change in the chemo drugs, there could potentially be new side effects.

"Abigail" started chemo on Monday (7/13) to shrink the small tumor on her liver. She's nauseous, of course, but doing okay so far.

Please continue to pray that these wonderfully strong women will not be affected too much by the treatments. Also, please keep praying that "Martha" receives the healing touch of God the Father just as "Abigail" did.

I continue to thank everyone for thoughts and prayers for these two special ladies.

Prayer Emergency: An Update

A short while back, I asked my readers to pray for "Abigail", 19, a niece of one of my dearest friends who was just diagnosed with stage IV cervical cancer that had spread to her liver. I'm pleased to report that my friend told me today "Abigail's" last pap smear came back with no trace of cancer. She still has a very small spot on her liver, and she's going to start chemotherapy in hopes of getting rid of it. Worst case scenario: the doctors will remove that very tiny part of her liver.

I believe in miracles and the power of prayer. I cried and thanked God over and over again for touching this young girl with His healing hands. While He will get all the glory (and rightfully so), I'd like to thank everyone out there who said a prayer, lit a candle, or just wished nothing but the best for "Abigail". I can't tell you how much it means to me.

In that post, I also asked that you pray for "Martha", the mom of a close friend of mine who is waging her own battle with cancer. Please continue to pray for her and for her family as I haven't had any recent updates. Pray that God puts his loving arms around all of them and gives them the strength to deal with this. I truly appreciate it.

I hope we can go 2 for 2 on this!!! May God bless each and every one of you.

Thank you,

Prayer Emergency!!

I normally wouldn't do this, but I have two very close friends who have loved ones battling cancer. I'm not going to use their real names because I figure (a) God knows who I'm talking about and (b) the families may not want their loved ones' crises spread all over the net.

If those of you who visit here could please add these people to a prayer chain/group, I'd be grateful. I've already done so at my church, but thought "Gee! I could reach a lot of people in cyberspace!"

Here are the two people who desperately need prayer for a miracle. Also include the families of these two people. The families are just as affected as the patient.

  • "Martha" is in her 50's (I never asked her real age. I was brought up that it was rude to do so.) and has been battling cancer. She's the mom of a friend I keep so very near to my heart, and she just recently had a setback. She raised a wonderful kid (my friend), and it breaks my heart to think a great lady like this could succumb to this dreaded disease.
  • "Abigail" is the niece of another very close friend of mine who just lost her husband to brain cancer in April. "Abigail" was diagnosed two weeks ago with cervical cancer (already at stage 4), and the doctors believe it has spread to her liver. "Abigail" starts chemo on the 13th. She's 19.
I know this could open the door to a lot of people asking me to do the same. Believe me when I say I pray every night that God's healing touch reaches those in this world who are suffering with any life-threatening disease. These two are just hitting close to home.

Thank you to everyone out there! Later today, I should have a regular post up.

Many blessings,
blackandgoldfan
