Cap & Trade Debacle Passes House

In a 219-212 vote, the Climate bill, affectionately known as Cap and Trade, passed the House just minutes ago. The bill now goes to the Senate, where analysts are predicting a tougher time getting it passed there.

It really hacks me off that the arrogant members of the House did NOT listen to the people. Capitol Hill switchboards were jammed for a large part of the day. Do you think people were saying "Pass it!"? I don't think so.

Our mission now becomes twofold. One, pressure every senator to vote it down. Second, remove every member of Congress who votes for this massive tax that will put the final nail in the coffin of the economy.

As for my representative, John Murtha, I have a message for him: I WILL DO EVERYTHING I CAN WITH MY DYING BREATH TO SEE THAT YOU ARE NOT REELECTED AND TO SUPPORT ANY CANDIDATE RUNNING AGAINST YOU!!!!

I told my senator pretty much the same thing and got a form letter in response. Which of course I posted in a blog. But she has no idea that when I told her I would work tirelessly to defeat her that I am one vindictive spinster.

I am so disgusted with all of American today (except the bloggers) for putting the death of Michael Jackson ahead of the impending death of capitalism. Not to be incensitive, but won't he still be dead tomorrow?

First of all, thank you so much for stopping here, spinster! It's really great to hear new voices from those who believe in the principles of freedom.

We still have the Senate to work on, and I've heard that this hideous legislation will probably have a tougher time there(I pray so!). And,no,you're not being insensitive on the Michael Jackson issue. It is truly sad that this country has gotten its priorities so upside down.

Again, thanks for reading! Take care! Hope to see you again. :-D

Blackandgold - well said here, I hope that you feel better too! I was surprised today that a lot of bloggers didn't cover this! I'll write later about that among other things.....

Murtha is tied at the top of my s*** list with the Republican 8 (great name, btw). I have some things to say tomorrow, too. Chicken soup, my friend!

My representative, Peter DeFazio, a liberal Democrat voted no. As much as I disagree with Pete on most issues, I sent off an e-mail and will leave a phone message to congratulate him on doing the right thing. Must give credit, where credit is due.

William -- I agree 1000%. To all of those who listened to the American people and voted against this crap: My hat off to you for doing the right thing. Woe to those who voted "yea". I'm REALLY steamed about this!!! Like I said at LCR:

Hell hath no fury like a blogger scorned.

I will help you ensure Murtha is defeated. It's time for his fat ass to retire to the looney farm. I am so upset this evening over all of this.

Thanks, Clay! We're gonna have to work really hard here. Murtha's job is in the crosshairs.
