Illegal Immigration: Part of the Problem

I wrote this piece last year about six days into my blogging adventures. With today's political climate, I thought it was worth reposting.

Illegal Immigration: Part of the Problem

LAREDO, TX - AUGUST 07: U.S. Border Patrol ag...

One issue I feel is being overlooked in the midst of this economic crisis is that of illegal immigration. Not the people like our parents, grandparents, or great-grandparents who came to this country with nothing but a dream and the desire to succeed and went through the proper channels to become a part of the greatest country in the history of humankind. I'm talking about the people who come to this country with no desire of becoming a citizen yet want to suckle from the taxpayers' teat.

The southern border states with Mexico are especially hard-hit. People stream across our southern border every day and stream back across the border at day's end. I wish they'd make up their minds: Become a U.S. citizen and enjoy the fruits of the hard work of this country or remain a Mexican citizen. If you choose the first, we welcome you with open arms. Should you choose the latter, please stay home. Why are we allowing this to happen?

Many illegal immigrants are taking advantage of the American taxpayers. Pregnant women are wading through the Rio Grande to have their babies in American hospitals so the babies are U.S. citizens. Guess who pays for that? Look at your pay stub. Then, since they are illegal but their children are not, they get welfare. Do I hear a Kumbaya from the choir?

This country's educational system is also being drained of resources. In years past, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, I've heard stories of buses within the San Diego school system driving across the border to pick up children in Mexico to bring them back to San Diego to go to school. Who pays for that? Look at your pay stub. Think of how much money the school systems in this country could save if they didn't have to pay for students whose parents do not contribute to the system.

While I believe we should not turn away those people who want to be productive members of this melting pot we call The Greatest Nation on Earth, we do need to address the problem of illegal immigration, and we need to show tough love.

First, I suggest not one but TWO fences about 20 yards apart. In between those fences, let's use military surplus land mines. It sounds cruel, but it worked in Berlin for many years, didn't it? And those who come here to get freebies would have something to think about before hopping the fence.
When they start to tunnel, deploy troops to patrol the double fence. If troops are unavailable, deputize the Minutemen.

Second, we need to stop the treatment of illegal immigrants in our hospitals. If you don't have a valid form of identification when you arrive at the ER, so sorry. Most people, no matter how dire the emergency is, usually carry some form of ID. If you're in a car accident, that's usually how they find out who you are. And repeal the "Born Here; U.S. Citizen" rule. Women have had healthy babies in countries much poorer than Mexico. We can't afford to do this anymore.

Third, the schools need to push for more stringent criteria in verifying citizenship of those whose children are to enter our school system. You want your child to have an education in the U.S. schools? Get in line and become a citizen.

Lastly, NO GOVERNMENT PAPERWORK IN LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH!!! You want to access taxpayer money? Become a citizen and learn to speak our language (or what SHOULD be our official language).

While it may seem like I'm targeting only illegal Mexican immigrants, I'm not. There are illegal immigrants from all over the world in this country. They need to go back to their countries of origin until they decide that they want to be a citizen of this country. That includes Obama's great aunt who is living in subsidized housing in Boston. Yep...you read that right. No wonder Dear Leader is so unwilling to tackle this problem. Or maybe it's because he knows he'd be deported and we would no longer be paying for his lavish spending.

This country was built up by the sweat, blood, and hard work of those who dared to leave everything behind and start anew in an uncertain land with no expectation of a handout. Unfortunately, those ideals are being lost by those who wish to take and not give.

Veterans Take a Back Seat to Illegals

Chad Groening, writing for OneNewsNow.com, has posted an article about how illegal immigrants in this country are put ahead of U.S. citizens, even veterans, in Medicaid programs around the country. Have we heard anything from the MSM on this issue, kids? For our citizens, ESPECIALLY veterans, to be bumped for healthcare because an illegal immigrant needs it is un-American.

Dean Heller (R-NV) proposed an amendment to the Obamacare legislation that would've prevented illegal immigrants from accessing government-subsidized healthcare. The Dems defeated the measure handily.

Susan Tully, national field director for the Federation for American Immigration Reform, says not only are illegal aliens not excluded from the healthcare proposals, but they are already getting benefits before American citizens. She cites the example of a disabled woman in Wisconsin.

"She has to go to what they call a Title 19 dentist -- somebody who takes this government [dental] plan," Tully notes. "She cannot get in to see a dentist because illegal aliens and migrant workers fill the waiting rooms because they're all eligible under Title 19 for dentist care."

Tully says that clinic is not taking any more patients, adding that even veterans are being pushed aside when it comes to access to benefits.
Susan Tully
"I've had up in Minnesota a veteran who's having to wait 18 months to get in to see a doctor at a VA hospital, but refugees from Somalia can walk into any clinic at any time and get seen by a doctor immediately," she points out. "We have this crazy, inverted system that people who are less deserving have the first slice at everything."

The first thought that springs into my caffeine-deprived brain right now is probably the same one yinz have: How the hell do ILLEGAL immigrants get to access American taxpayer money??? God forbid you not have proof of residency to enroll your kids in school, but if you want the American taxpayers to support you, it's overlooked. For crying out loud, I don't favor Americans accessing taxpayer money to relieve themselves of the responsibility of providing for their families. I'm sorry...how frickin' insensitive of me to even bring it up. Looks like "re-education" is in my future.

Secondly, if ANYONE should be bumped to the front of the line, it should be those who have served their country proudly and with honor. What, in God's name, has happened in this society when we put veterans behind someone who shouldn't even be in this country? That is a total disgrace and makes all the sacrifices our soldiers have made seem in vain. What a crying shame.

I look for immigration reform to be the next hot-button issue in light of Dear Leader calling us "demagogues" on his trip to Mexico last week. Whether it comes to the forefront or not, this is definitely something we need to let our representatives in Congress know is just flat-out wrong. Our veterans deserve a hell of a lot more out of the country they've defended.

To each and every brave man or woman who has served this great nation: Thank you. You will always have a special place in my heart and my undying gratitude and respect.

*saluting*

Obama's Aunt Polly In Boston Public Housing...Again

Last year, brief mention was made about Obama's aunt, Zeituni Polly Onyango, living in Boston in public housing. Polly is the half-sister of Obama's father and has been living in the U.S. illegally and faces deportation.

The following is from The Boston Herald via foxnews.com. My comments will be in color.

Barack Obama’s aunt at home in Southie digs

With her deportation hearing still six months away, the controversial Kenyan aunt of President Obama has quietly resurfaced in public housing in South Boston, the Herald has learned.

“Beggars can’t be choosers,” Obama’s “Auntie Zeituni” Onyango, 57, told the Herald yesterday with a mischievous smile, wearing a string of pearls and a sleeveless forest-green sheath she said her nephew bought her years before he became leader of the free world. (You shouldn't be a "beggar" in this country. You are a criminal who chose to thumb your nose at our immigration laws. With regards to "leader of the free world": it won't be free by the time your newphew's done with it.)

“I’d like to live in a castle and have a limousine,” she said, “but I don’t. My wealth is my health.” (Your nephew and his evil minions in Congress will make sure that you will just as poor as the rest of us. Be thankful you may be in Kenya if this crap goes through. Your healthcare will be better.)

Zeituni Polly Onyango, the half-sister of Obama’s late father Barack Obama Sr., moved into a discreet apartment complex this past month while she waits to fight a Feb. 4, 2010, removal proceeding brought against her by the Department of Homeland Security in U.S. Immigration Court in Boston. (Who's paying her rent?)

Onyango, a computer programmer, was ordered to leave the country in 2004 after her request for political asylum from the violence in Africa was turned down. Instead, she stayed illegally and was revealed to be living in government-subsidized housing on Flaherty Way in Southie last October by The Times of London during the final stretch of Obama’s run for the White House. (If she is smart enough to be a programmer, you would think she would be smart enough to go about the citizenship process legally. And with the money that can come from being a programmer, how did she qualify for Section 8 housing? We paid her rent for four years!!!)

Though reluctant to discuss her case yesterday, Onyango bristled when asked if she’ll request her nephew stand up for her as a character witness.

“Why should he?” she said. “My problem is my problem. I carry my own cross. I’m an adult.” (An adult who should know the laws of this country regarding citizenship.)

Mike Rogers, spokesman for the Cleveland, Ohio, law firm representing Onyango, said her attorneys are “not discussing legal strategy,” but, “they’re very optimistic about the outcome.” (They may not be discussing legal strategy, but I wonder if they're discussing the case with the resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue being that they're so optimistic about the outcome.)

Rogers said Onyango is “very proud” of Obama. “For a woman who has a lot of things against her, she seemed to be of strong spirit,” he said. (I'd say that having Dear Leader as a relative is one strike against her. That's the proverbial albatross around her neck.)

Attorneys Margaret Wong and Scott Bratton have asked that Onyango’s immigration hearing be closed to the public, according to Elaine Komis, a spokeswoman for the Executive Office for Immigration Review, an agency of the U.S. Department of Justice. (Why should her hearing be private when many others aren't? Are they afraid of information that may be aired during the hearing? Hmmmmm?)

Onyango said she’s been enjoying her privacy since escaping the heat of last year’s worldwide spotlight on her and enjoys joining in on conversations about her nephew with people who don’t recognize her. (Boy, how I'd LOVE to discuss her nephew with her!)

“Boston is my second home,” she said. “(South Boston) is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever lived in. People are very kind, and I’m enjoying the beaches.” (So is your nephew and his family. Tell me, Aunt Polly, did your nephew stop to see you during his vacation? He WAS in Martha's Vineyard recently staying in luxury digs. Did he invite you along? No? Well, isn't that just a wonderful way to treat family!)

Obama has said repeatedly that he didn't know his aunt was living in the U.S. illegally and believes that laws covering the situation should be followed. (REALLY? Why does Barry want Aunt Polly out of the country? Do you think she was also present at his birth? And if he believes the law should be followed covering her immigration status, why is he so gung ho on letting other illegals reap benefits from American taxpayers?)

While I believe, that this woman should be deported under the laws of this country, I'm left with loads of skepticism about this whole situation. Maybe I'm missing something, but my gut is telling me that there's more to this. Something is just not adding up. I could be very wrong, but.....

My suggestion to Aunt Polly is to stay out of Fort Marcy Park. She may get the sudden urge to commit suicide. Vince Foster did.

Israel to Illegal Arabs: Hit the Road, Jack!

World Net Daily is reporting that Arabs who illegally built homes on Jewish land in key parts of Jerusalem have been handed eviction notices.

One particular neighborhood, Kfar Akeb, is largely Jewish-owned. Over the years, Arabs have illegally built housing developments there and now have a majority of the residents. If this doesn't change, the neighborhood could very well become the beginning of a Palestinian state. Former Prime Minister of Israel Ehud Olmert has cited the Arab majority as a reason to give up the land. Yeah, right. Does he think giving up this land will appease the Arab community? It'll only give them a new incentive to continue persecuting the Israeli nation.

The illegal Arab families were given seven days to vacate. Since that deadline has passed, Jerusalem activist Aryeh King is planning to bring in a private security team to physically remove the squatters within the next 23 days.

Is there some way we could do this since no one seems interested in putting up the fence? I wish there was.
