Illegal Immigration: Part of the Problem

I wrote this piece last year about six days into my blogging adventures. With today's political climate, I thought it was worth reposting.

Illegal Immigration: Part of the Problem

LAREDO, TX - AUGUST 07: U.S. Border Patrol ag...

One issue I feel is being overlooked in the midst of this economic crisis is that of illegal immigration. Not the people like our parents, grandparents, or great-grandparents who came to this country with nothing but a dream and the desire to succeed and went through the proper channels to become a part of the greatest country in the history of humankind. I'm talking about the people who come to this country with no desire of becoming a citizen yet want to suckle from the taxpayers' teat.

The southern border states with Mexico are especially hard-hit. People stream across our southern border every day and stream back across the border at day's end. I wish they'd make up their minds: Become a U.S. citizen and enjoy the fruits of the hard work of this country or remain a Mexican citizen. If you choose the first, we welcome you with open arms. Should you choose the latter, please stay home. Why are we allowing this to happen?

Many illegal immigrants are taking advantage of the American taxpayers. Pregnant women are wading through the Rio Grande to have their babies in American hospitals so the babies are U.S. citizens. Guess who pays for that? Look at your pay stub. Then, since they are illegal but their children are not, they get welfare. Do I hear a Kumbaya from the choir?

This country's educational system is also being drained of resources. In years past, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, I've heard stories of buses within the San Diego school system driving across the border to pick up children in Mexico to bring them back to San Diego to go to school. Who pays for that? Look at your pay stub. Think of how much money the school systems in this country could save if they didn't have to pay for students whose parents do not contribute to the system.

While I believe we should not turn away those people who want to be productive members of this melting pot we call The Greatest Nation on Earth, we do need to address the problem of illegal immigration, and we need to show tough love.

First, I suggest not one but TWO fences about 20 yards apart. In between those fences, let's use military surplus land mines. It sounds cruel, but it worked in Berlin for many years, didn't it? And those who come here to get freebies would have something to think about before hopping the fence.
When they start to tunnel, deploy troops to patrol the double fence. If troops are unavailable, deputize the Minutemen.

Second, we need to stop the treatment of illegal immigrants in our hospitals. If you don't have a valid form of identification when you arrive at the ER, so sorry. Most people, no matter how dire the emergency is, usually carry some form of ID. If you're in a car accident, that's usually how they find out who you are. And repeal the "Born Here; U.S. Citizen" rule. Women have had healthy babies in countries much poorer than Mexico. We can't afford to do this anymore.

Third, the schools need to push for more stringent criteria in verifying citizenship of those whose children are to enter our school system. You want your child to have an education in the U.S. schools? Get in line and become a citizen.

Lastly, NO GOVERNMENT PAPERWORK IN LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH!!! You want to access taxpayer money? Become a citizen and learn to speak our language (or what SHOULD be our official language).

While it may seem like I'm targeting only illegal Mexican immigrants, I'm not. There are illegal immigrants from all over the world in this country. They need to go back to their countries of origin until they decide that they want to be a citizen of this country. That includes Obama's great aunt who is living in subsidized housing in Boston. Yep...you read that right. No wonder Dear Leader is so unwilling to tackle this problem. Or maybe it's because he knows he'd be deported and we would no longer be paying for his lavish spending.

This country was built up by the sweat, blood, and hard work of those who dared to leave everything behind and start anew in an uncertain land with no expectation of a handout. Unfortunately, those ideals are being lost by those who wish to take and not give.

The American Worker ID Card: Beware This, Folks!!

Maybe I'm the only one who sees a problem with this, but I think it's worth covering from the perspective of personal liberty.

According to foxnews.com, the Senate is busy crafting an immigration plan that would require all workers in the U.S. to carry an ID card with embedded information (including fingerprints). Anyone else see the potential for governmental abuse should this come to fruition? And people thought the Patriot Act was horrific.

The bill is being sponsored by Chucky Schumer (D-NY) and RINO extraordinaire Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and faces a tough battle in the Senate. In an interview, Schmucky Schumer made the following statement:

"It's the nub of solving the immigration dilemma politically speaking," Schumer said in an interview. The card, he said, would directly answer concerns that after legislation is signed, another wave of illegal immigrants would arrive. "If you say they can't get a job when they come here, you'll stop it."

That's right. Hand over your personal information to the government wonks, and the illegal immigration problem will vanish into thin air. What a moron!

"It is fundamentally a massive invasion of people's privacy," said Chris Calabrese, legislative counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union. "We're not only talking about fingerprinting every American, treating ordinary Americans like criminals in order to work. We're also talking about a card that would quickly spread from work to voting to travel to pretty much every aspect of American life that requires identification."

Now, there are issues that I couldn't disagree more with the ACLU, but this ain't one of them. They see the potential for abuse just as plain as day. If this goes through, folks, we are nothing more than avatars in the government version of the Sims. They'll control our lives in ways never dreamed of by the Founding Fathers. And all in the name of curbing illegal immigration.

I've got a boffo idea. How about militarizing our borders??? Or putting a double fence along the border with surplus land mines in between? It worked in Berlin for many years! THAT'S what we should be doing. Instead, Schumer and Graham feel the need to curb our personal liberties once again to seem compassionate to those who violate our laws.

Dear reader, this is another attempt to inject government even further into our everyday lives. I urge all of you to stay informed on this matter and let your representatives in Congress know that you will NOT stand for this erosion of liberty. The freedom you enjoy today could be gone tomorrow if Schumer and Graham have their way.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio vs. CNN's Sanchez

We REALLY need Sheriff Joe as DHS secretary. He gets it and makes no apologies. Watch him smackdown CNN's Rick Sanchez.

Arpaio to Feds: SCREW YOU!!!

Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona, has announced that he will continue rounding up illegal immigrants despite a directive from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that takes away his federal authority to do so. Good God, I love this guy!

Arpaio rose to fame with his hard-nosed, common sense approach to law enforcement. Inmates are housed in tents in the Arizona desert, given bologna sandwiches for meals, and are treated to classical music and Frank Sinatra via KJOE, the in-house radio station run from Joe's basement. Girlie magazines, coffee, and cigarettes (ouch) are not allowed. Residents of the jail sport pink underwear and can volunteer to work on chain gangs, and liberals worldwide have called his measures inhumane. Of course they have. The lattes have been banned.

This Friday, Sheriff Joe is planning to do a sweep and round up illegal immigrants within his jurisdiction.

"I'm not gonna stop," Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said in an interview with FOXNews.com. He said the federal changes amount to a political hit job and that if Immigration and Customs Enforcement won't take illegal immigrants off his hands he'll personally drive them to the U.S.-Mexico border.

"Nothing will change," he said. "I'm not going to be deterred by any bully."

A man's man in law enforcement, Sheriff Joe has won re-election by resounding margins, the smallest being 13 percentage points in 2008. This makes the liberals crazy.

Frank Sharry, director of advocacy group America's Voice, said in a written statement last week that DHS should "pull the plug on bullies like Arpaio."

"It is making a historic mistake by lending the full force and legitimacy of the federal government to a rogue cop certain to go down in history as a serial violator of civil rights and an enemy of the Latino community," he said.

Mr. Sharry, what is your solution to the illegal immigrant problem plaguing the border states? Wait...I know. Give them all amnesty and they'll become productive, law-abiding citizens. Do you truly believe that, Mr. Sharry? And what about all those people from other countries who are following the proper path to citizenship? Are you suggesting that the rules be bent for only one segment of the immigrant population? I know you're a busy man with all the whining there is to do, but get back to me when you can.

Arpaio remains defiant. He said he's glad to be able to conduct immigration sweeps without having to follow federal guidelines.

"They can't stop this sheriff. I don't report to the feds. I report to the people," he said. "They should give me a medal -- shouldn't be the Nobel Peace Prize, but it should be something."

First off, a big BAM! to BHO with the NPP remark. Second, he knows who pays him. This guy is great.

Rest assured that should I ever get to make the decision as to who to appoint as DHS Secretary, Sheriff Joe will be getting a call.

Illegal Public Education Ends in Texas

Kelt Cooper, the new superintendent of the Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District, is doing what someone should've done a long time ago. He has basically put the brakes on the gravy train that allowed approximately 500 or more children living in Mexico to receive a public education courtesy of the U.S. taxpayers. About damned time!

District staff members have been sent to the border crossing at Cuidad Acuna to tell parents that they either provide proof of residency or their children will be expelled. Most of the time, Mexican residents provide a false U.S. address to enroll their kids in the school district, and the little cherubs get to school either by using a walking bridge to cross the border or parents drive them to school here in the U.S. Why the hell do we have bridges allowing people to walk across the border to begin with? I say it's time to bring them down in order to make room for that double fence with surplus land mines in between. THAT'S homeland security!

“I’ve seen van loads of kids with plates from Coahuila State (Mexico) pulling in front of the school,” Del Rio Superintendent Kelt Cooper told a major news organization. “Everyone knows what is going on. It’s real blatant." I also offer that it's a slap in the face to every American taxpayer who is sick of having their tax money squandered on those who do not contribute to the system but expect others to pick up the tab.

Mr. Cooper is a former school superintendent for the city Nogales, Arizona, one of the busiest border crossings in the state. He once uncovered the fact that dozens of students within that school district had all used the same vacant lot address to enroll in school and drain U.S. taxpayer resources.

While stopping a little over 500 illegals seems about as effective as peeing over Niagara Falls hoping to make a difference, it is a start. The proposed move by Mr. Cooper would save the taxpayers approximately $3 million annually. That ain't chump change!

The average cost to the American taxpayers to provide education to those who should not be getting it is approximately $12 BILLION a year, with (no surprise) California and Texas forking out the most with spending of $7.7 billion and $3.9 billion respectively. Estimates are that there are approximately 1.5 million school-aged illegal immigrants across the country receiving a public education. Why the hell isn't more being done to stop this??? Oops...I forgot. BHO, Senora Justice Sotomayor, La Raza, and the compassionate left think there's nothing wrong with it. We greedy Americans need to show the rest of the world that we care, right?

I have no problem with parents wanting a better education for their children, but DO IT LEGALLY!!! Come to this country, go through the naturalization process, and pay your frickin' taxes like the rest of us. Quit whining about how oppressed you are and respect the laws of this country if you want your children to reap the benefits of their dreams in order to have a better life.

I look for La Raza and the ACLU (Atheist Communist Liberal Uprising) to take this to court on the grounds that civil rights to education are being denied. CIVIL RIGHTS APPLY TO AMERICAN CITIZENS, YOU DOPES! Unfortunately, Obamarx may make this all a moot point by giving amnesty to illegals in order to get them healthcare.

Let's call this movement exactly what it is: a non-military invasion. And the left is guilty of treason by aiding and abetting it.

Pray for this country like you've never done before.

Stimulus Waste and Our Borders

Since Obamacare seems to be on life support (we hope), I've said in recent comments elsewhere that illegal immigration will be the next big issue to voice our opinions on. Let's face facts: We're slowly being invaded. Those who live along the southern border of this country and those of us who can read between the lines when Obama called us "demagogues" would probably agree with that statement. It isn't a military-style invasion, but the results would be the same as though the entire Mexican Army came fully armed across the Rio Grande.

When the $787 billion stimulus package was passed, Obama promised to put people back to work and jump start the economy. Since then, there have been millions in stimulus money lost to fraud, abuse, and pure stupidity.

Tom Coburn (R-OK) filed a report detailing wasteful projects that were funded by the American taxpayers when the stimulus bill was passed. I'll be doing a series on the top ten wasteful projects in other posts soon. Some you may have heard of, but some you may not.

Recently, according to Judicial Watch, a couple of news reports have surfaced with even more evidence of waste. Break out the barf bags, folks.

The first report found that approximately $1 million went to 4,000 jailed convicts. Among those receiving a $250 stimulus check were murderers and rapists who did not qualify for the check issued by the Social Security Administration. The SSA had also mailed out stimulus checks to approximately 10,000 DEAD people as well as fugitives and deported aliens. No wonder the program is broke! I've stated before that the closest thing to eternal life is a government program, and Social Security is a shining example of that. I guess Charon has upped his fee for crossing the river Styx and the cost of keeping your cellmate at bay has risen.

A separate report has also uncovered political influence being used in determining where stimulus money has gone with regards to our borders. Despite a promise of transparency, the report has stated that some of the border stimulus projects that have gone through DHS were done under a cloak of secrecy. Is anyone surprised?

Whitetail, Montana (population 71), has a checkpoint along the Canadian border that sees about three (3) travelers a day but will receive $15 million in stimulus funds to build a checkpoint station the size of a Hollywood mansion. How did this happen? Sens. Max Baucus (D-MT) and Jon Tester (D-MT) pressed Janet Napolitano for the money arguing that it would create jobs and improve infrastructure. Approximately $63,000 worth of goods passed through the checkpoint last year. The project was low on the priority list that DHS is supposed to submit every year of repairs that need to be made to checkpoints. The Obama administration has carried on a tradition started by George W. Bush of using subjective standards to bump certain projects ahead of others, and Whitetail falls under that category. Ah...the game of political prostitution at its finest.

Janet Napolitano's home state of Arizona is set to receive stimulus funds for the busy Nogales checkpoint though it was not a major priority on the DHS list. The price tag? $199 million. Five times more than any other checkpoint will get. JaNa bragged about lobbying to get the project moved ahead on the list while she was governor of Arizona during the Bush administration. Stimulus provided the money. But I'm SURE there were no political favors, right? I mean, it's not like it was used as a political payoff to take the DHS Secretary's post, eh? That would never happen under the most transparent administration in history!

Securing our borders HAS to become a priority. It's bad enough that we are fighting the enemies from within, but we really shouldn't have to battle those coming from across the borders illegally. Unfortunately, Washington has chosen political favor over the security of this great nation.

Oh...and the Laredo, Texas, checkpoint that serves more than 55,000 travelers and 4,200 trucks a day? Despite being a very high priority on the DHS list, it will receive not one penny of stimulus money for repairs. Hmmm... if Texas was a blue state...

BHO in Mexico: He Called Us What???

dem⋅a⋅gogue--a person, esp. an orator or political leader, who gains power and popularity by arousing the emotions, passions, and prejudices of the people.

During his visit to Mexico, Dear Leader was asked about amnesty for those illegal immigrants who are already in this country. Here is his response. Keep in mind the above definition for the word "demagogue."

In other words, he is saying that when we speak out against what we don't believe in, we are preying on peoples fears and emotions.

No, you twit from 1600. We are appealing to the common sense of the American people. When people realize the con game you and your posse are trying to run by us, THEN we get emotional. When that happens, there's no stopping us. Just ask look at what the voices of the American people have done to your precious "public option" you tried to run by us. And I will make a bet that the rest of that hideous legislation will follow.

A lot of us out here have not trusted anything you've said from day one. Since then, our numbers have grown, Dear Leader. We will no longer be silent, for we see what can happen when we unify our voices into a crescendo that even ACORN can't drown out. You will lose every time.

I hope you and your cronies enjoy your stay in DC, Mr. Obamarx. Yours will most likely be a lot shorter than those in Congress, but make no mistake: You wanted change? It's coming.

Obama's Aunt Polly In Boston Public Housing...Again

Last year, brief mention was made about Obama's aunt, Zeituni Polly Onyango, living in Boston in public housing. Polly is the half-sister of Obama's father and has been living in the U.S. illegally and faces deportation.

The following is from The Boston Herald via foxnews.com. My comments will be in color.

Barack Obama’s aunt at home in Southie digs

With her deportation hearing still six months away, the controversial Kenyan aunt of President Obama has quietly resurfaced in public housing in South Boston, the Herald has learned.

“Beggars can’t be choosers,” Obama’s “Auntie Zeituni” Onyango, 57, told the Herald yesterday with a mischievous smile, wearing a string of pearls and a sleeveless forest-green sheath she said her nephew bought her years before he became leader of the free world. (You shouldn't be a "beggar" in this country. You are a criminal who chose to thumb your nose at our immigration laws. With regards to "leader of the free world": it won't be free by the time your newphew's done with it.)

“I’d like to live in a castle and have a limousine,” she said, “but I don’t. My wealth is my health.” (Your nephew and his evil minions in Congress will make sure that you will just as poor as the rest of us. Be thankful you may be in Kenya if this crap goes through. Your healthcare will be better.)

Zeituni Polly Onyango, the half-sister of Obama’s late father Barack Obama Sr., moved into a discreet apartment complex this past month while she waits to fight a Feb. 4, 2010, removal proceeding brought against her by the Department of Homeland Security in U.S. Immigration Court in Boston. (Who's paying her rent?)

Onyango, a computer programmer, was ordered to leave the country in 2004 after her request for political asylum from the violence in Africa was turned down. Instead, she stayed illegally and was revealed to be living in government-subsidized housing on Flaherty Way in Southie last October by The Times of London during the final stretch of Obama’s run for the White House. (If she is smart enough to be a programmer, you would think she would be smart enough to go about the citizenship process legally. And with the money that can come from being a programmer, how did she qualify for Section 8 housing? We paid her rent for four years!!!)

Though reluctant to discuss her case yesterday, Onyango bristled when asked if she’ll request her nephew stand up for her as a character witness.

“Why should he?” she said. “My problem is my problem. I carry my own cross. I’m an adult.” (An adult who should know the laws of this country regarding citizenship.)

Mike Rogers, spokesman for the Cleveland, Ohio, law firm representing Onyango, said her attorneys are “not discussing legal strategy,” but, “they’re very optimistic about the outcome.” (They may not be discussing legal strategy, but I wonder if they're discussing the case with the resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue being that they're so optimistic about the outcome.)

Rogers said Onyango is “very proud” of Obama. “For a woman who has a lot of things against her, she seemed to be of strong spirit,” he said. (I'd say that having Dear Leader as a relative is one strike against her. That's the proverbial albatross around her neck.)

Attorneys Margaret Wong and Scott Bratton have asked that Onyango’s immigration hearing be closed to the public, according to Elaine Komis, a spokeswoman for the Executive Office for Immigration Review, an agency of the U.S. Department of Justice. (Why should her hearing be private when many others aren't? Are they afraid of information that may be aired during the hearing? Hmmmmm?)

Onyango said she’s been enjoying her privacy since escaping the heat of last year’s worldwide spotlight on her and enjoys joining in on conversations about her nephew with people who don’t recognize her. (Boy, how I'd LOVE to discuss her nephew with her!)

“Boston is my second home,” she said. “(South Boston) is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever lived in. People are very kind, and I’m enjoying the beaches.” (So is your nephew and his family. Tell me, Aunt Polly, did your nephew stop to see you during his vacation? He WAS in Martha's Vineyard recently staying in luxury digs. Did he invite you along? No? Well, isn't that just a wonderful way to treat family!)

Obama has said repeatedly that he didn't know his aunt was living in the U.S. illegally and believes that laws covering the situation should be followed. (REALLY? Why does Barry want Aunt Polly out of the country? Do you think she was also present at his birth? And if he believes the law should be followed covering her immigration status, why is he so gung ho on letting other illegals reap benefits from American taxpayers?)

While I believe, that this woman should be deported under the laws of this country, I'm left with loads of skepticism about this whole situation. Maybe I'm missing something, but my gut is telling me that there's more to this. Something is just not adding up. I could be very wrong, but.....

My suggestion to Aunt Polly is to stay out of Fort Marcy Park. She may get the sudden urge to commit suicide. Vince Foster did.

La Raza: "If the American People Found Out..."

Well, well, well. Check out this little tidbit from directorblue.blogspot.com. I found it just browsing around in cyberspace. Evidently, Mark Levin had a caller, "Suzanne", on his June 25th program who attended a health care conference sponsored by La Raza. This is what she had to say:

I want to tell you that last week I attended a conference on health care reform sponsored by La Raza. And I will tell you that what they had to say, Mark, is scarier than anything that's been said so far on the health care plan.

The kind of comments that were made and the notes that I took... they started the conference out by saying "America does not need health care reform, but Latino immigrants need health care reform."

And someone from Menendez' office [Ed.: Sen. Robert Menendez, D-NJ] promised that he would make sure that "the useless barriers of citizenship would not be in this bill" and that he would make sure that they would use keywords like "streamline"...

It was La Raza, the Childrens Defense Fund and Senator Menendez from New Jersey, a representative from his office...

...Yes [they said they would get free health care for illegal aliens], these are my notes, Mark. They actually got up and said "Latino children need health care more than whites". And then they would say things like "you must go out into your communities, use words like 'streamline', use phrases like 'all workers' and 'all families'," because they said -- and I quote -- "If the American people find out that this bill is about giving health care to non-citizens, they will rise up against it."

...One of the quotes they said was, "We want to make sure we take care of barriers like verification, but we can streamline programs to the more affluent" and, quote, "Useless treatments for the elderly can be gone because we don't need to spend money for people who are going to die anyway."

That's a direct quote from that meeting. They also said, "We are very concerned there will be an effort to include" the illegal immigrants in this argument, so "we must make sure that we focus this" to the American people that it's looking like we want "health care for everyone".

And they also said that 75% of the children who will be picked up in this will be non-citizens and that 44% of the uninsured are non-citizens and they can't possibly allow the American people to know this."

Menendez' office said that he's going to make sure that "a family of four that makes $66,000 a year or less will pay nothing at all for the new health care. And he was the one who said he was going to get rid of specifics like "citizenship status" and focus on, quote, "equity for all workers".

And he said he's going to make sure that the Latino immigrants are the focus of the health care reform.

And La Raza said if they get this, they don't even care about amnesty, because they've fixed it so that one family member can apply for all extended family members. And... Mark, if you think we have a problem with illegal immigration now, wait 'til you see the borders when this thing gets passed.

Where to start?

First of all, this just as racist as any vile rhetoric spewed by the Ku Klux Klan. "Latino children need healthcare more than whites"??? What scientific basis is there for this? If anyone out there has that information, please let me know. What about poor white children in Appalachia? They tend to live far below the poverty level than most children, but their parents don't expect to be put ahead of any other race. In fact, they tend to be proud people who do not like to ask for charity.

"If the American people find out that this bill is about giving health care to non-citizens, they will rise up against it." -- How DARE YOU!!! We, as LEGAL AMERICAN CITIZENS, have EVERY RIGHT TO KNOW ABOUT THIS!!! After all, it is our hard-earned tax dollars you are accessing while contributing NADA to the system. This is why we need the double fence along the border with army surplus land mines in between. You people disgust me!

75% of the children who will be picked up in this will be non-citizens and that 44% of the uninsured are non-citizens and they can't possibly allow the American people to know this." -- Well guess what!!! We know now, and we plan on spreading the word with our dying breaths. Hasta la vista!!!

one family member can apply for all extended family members -- They must've learned this from the "gimme" class I posted about a few weeks ago.

With the MSM so broken up about Michael Jackson and covering the White House luau, it's no wonder we haven't heard ONE WORD about this. Menendez is a shyster who seems to have attended the Barack Obama school of "Don't let the people know what we're up to".

Your mission, troops: Call or email Senator Robert Menendez at 202 224-4744, 973 645-3030 and 856 757-5353. This is treason in its classic form.

Illegal Immigrants Being Urged to Boycott Census

Is it me, or is there a lack of common sense here?

According to foxnews.com, Latino leaders are calling on illegal immigrants to boycott the census citing that being counted but not represented is unfair.

Why the hell are they being counted to begin with? The purpose of the census is to get an accurate count of AMERICAN CITIZENS to gerrymander Congressional seats. To count illegal immigrants only serves one purpose: To bolster population counts in what are normally Democratic strongholds. Thanks ACORN!! Oops...I mean COI (Communist Obama Idealogs).

"It doesn't make any sense, in some way it is immoral that we are counting 12 million undocumented immigrants who have no benefit at all financially speaking," said Rev. Miguel Rivera, president of the National Coalition of Latino Clergy & Christian Leaders.

No financial benefit??? How about the illegals who fill our emergency rooms and get their bills paid by the American taxpayer? Or how about the illegals who fill our prisons and are cared for by the American taxpayer instead of being deported? The burden on our system by illegal immigrants is what's immoral, Rev. Rivera.

I'm not going to go into the reasons why we need to address illegal immigration. I posted on this yesterday, and I don't want to be redundant. Maybe Rev. Rivera needs to read it.

Someone please pass the duct tape!

Illegal Immigration: Part of the Problem

LAREDO, TX - AUGUST 07: U.S. Border Patrol ag...

One issue I feel is being overlooked in the midst of this economic crisis is that of illegal immigration.
